Speaking of name change..........

Speaking of name change..........

I hypenated on my marraige license, and have absolutely NO intentions on changing anything at all, except for my bank accounts, which I will have w/the hyphenated name, since all they ask for is a marraige license to do so.

I feel so relaxed with my decision. I feel I have the best of both worlds doing it like this.

Ha ha, thanks for listening. Just wanted to share. For some reason, I seem to be quite proud of myself, like I just won the lottery or something.
You can all ignore me tho, I know I'm being silly tonight, must be the jetlag from Hawaii

That's great Liz!

Now qstupid question. Does your child also get the hyphenated last name?

Re: Speaking of name change..........

No, I'll keep it simple and just give them Len's last name. By that time, I may drop my maiden for most purposes but I probably won't change my info. I'm so lazy

Re: Speaking of name change..........

I haven't a clue as to exactly who I am... I have 'MyLastName HisLastName' with no hyphen on my marriage liscense, my teaching certification, and some credit cards, hyphenated on my mortgage, and maiden only on my checks, car lease, and other credit cards.

I may be strange, but I enjoying having many alter egos.

Re: Speaking of name change..........

I recently booked 2 tkts for a sporting event and you had to pick the tkts up at window with Cc and ID, why did my Cc have my married name and my license has my maiden name, so I changed my CC back to save myself the hassle. When my DL is going to expire I will swich everything then, but why deal with DMV if you don't have to

Jen you have me confused girl

Re: Speaking of name change..........

This is all confusing me too!

I wonder when I will sign my married name though. It's a month Tuesday & I still don't remember too!

I still sign my first name - maidan initial - married name

its such a mess of a signiture...noone knows what I am signing...just that it looks the same everytime...

Re: Speaking of name change..........

You all have me LMAO

Yesterday, I took my car in and they asked me my name. I was like 'Uhhhhh.......' but since Len was staring down my throat I quickly decided and gave his last name. Luckily they didn't need ID

Re: Speaking of name change..........

I was thinking of changing my name from Karen Elizabeth Mylastname to Karen (Elizabeth Mylastname) Hislastname. Meaning, my middle name will now be TWO names. I'll only really use Karen Hislastname for things anyway, but legally and for the record, my own last name will still be part of things. Do you think that's silly???

Re: Speaking of name change..........

Karen ~ I don't think it's silly. It's pretty much what I did, except I use a double last name (not hyphenated) instead of a double middle name.
Do what makes you feel comfortable!

Re: Speaking of name change..........

How do you ladies deal with all the long names & knowing which documents are in what name

Good Luck to you all

Re: Speaking of name change..........

It really becomes routine, although I do have to look carefully at my credit cards before signing.
