Speaking of name change..........

Original post by Sassy

I hypenated on my marraige license, and have absolutely NO intentions on changing anything at all, except for my bank accounts, which I will have w/the hyphenated name, since all they ask for is a marraige license to do so.

I feel so relaxed with my decision. I feel I have the best of both worlds doing it like this.

Ha ha, thanks for listening. Just wanted to share. For some reason, I seem to be quite proud of myself, like I just won the lottery or something.
You can all ignore me tho, I know I'm being silly tonight, must be the jetlag from Hawaii

I thought I was the only one with these alter ego problems!!!!! I have taken his name only on my marriage license (which im still kicking myself for) and i have yet to change anything cause its just so much confusion!!!!! Im also not so sure that I dont want to be hyphenated. He got mad before we got married when i told him i wanted to hyphenate so i gave in and didnt..but its something that still is really bothering me a lot. So i have to talk to him again and see what he says before i go changing things.

I havent changed anything either. I am looking into planning a trip though and didnt think about what to do about the tickets since my license is still in my maiden name.

Nycchic,
My goodness are our stories the same. I did not want to change my name. At most I would of hyphenated it. He gave me such a hard time about it that I took his name on the marriage cert. It bothers me too. I havent changed a thing! The only thing that has his name is our marriage cert.

I hyphenated on the license but I probably won't change anything either, at least not for a while. I can't get used to it yet. Maybe I'll change after we have kids.
