Spin off to laundry question

What exactly do you girls bring to the dry cleaners to be cleaned aside from 'dry clean only' items.

I can't imagine bringing eveyrthing I own (except my bra's, undies and socks) to get dry-cleaned. I think it's a great idea b/c it's SO much easier. But doesn't it get $$?

Re: Spin off to laundry question

they don't dry clean it like they do with your dry clean only stuff, they just wash/fold them for you. In the city its super cheap, actually works out to be cheaper than doing your own. I think we pay something like $0.70 per lb, but if we use our washing machines its like $2.10 per load and then you have to pay for the dryer.

we send everything except my work clothes/nicer clothes bc those i wash myself and then hang dry. I also don't send my undies just bc i think its weird, but DH sends everything.

edited: To actually have dry cleaned DH brings his work shirts and pants. I only send like nice dresses or something..I rarely have things dry cleaned.

Re: Spin off to laundry question

Only formal stuff and a couple of my Betsey Johnson dresses.

Everything else either gets tossed in the wash if it's something that won't shrink, or I handwash it in the bathroom sink and hang it to dry.

But most of the time, if something says 'Dry Clean Only' on the tag and it seems like it'd be a PITA to wash...I just don't buy it.

If it says 'Dry Clean Only' it's dirty.

Re: Spin off to laundry question

I bring really expensive/nice sweaters to the dry clean even if it doesn't say to. A lot of times I bring work pants because I am in dressy pants everyday and they make the center crease perfect and its just easier. Button downs are like $1.25 and its not worth the hassle so I bring those (mine and fh). Dresses get dry cleaned too as well as coats.

Everyday casual clothing and everything else I do. I gueSs in a sum, I bring just $ stuff for dry clean.
