Did you guys exchange gifts? If so, what did you get one another? Did you go a little crazy with the spending bc its a 'big' anniverary?
DH is already surprising me with a weekend getaway somewhere... The hotel itself was a big chunk of $$ for us, plus spending, dinner, etc on top of that... And then DH comes home yesterday and tells me he got me some new pandora charms for my bracelet (which arent exactly cheap either) for my anny gift.... Yet 2 days ago, we said the trip was 'our' gift... So now DH is expecting to get a gift from me... I have an idea of what to get... sporting event tickets for both of us (to go with the whole 1st anny paper gift), but I feel like this whole anny has spun out of control now...
Sorry for the long winded post... Just wanted to see if you girls went/are going to go a bit overboard with the big first anny...

We're going away as well. But DH still asked me what I wanted. I told him our trip was our gift to each other, but he said we'll go out to a nice dinner as well (since the trip is 2 weeks after our anniversary).

Nope! We just got each other cards and went to dinner (and we had a $100 gift card where we went to dinner so we didn't spend anything! )
But yeah... we need a new roof on the house... so that kind of cut in to fun money.
DH got me a frame though and put two of our wedding pics in it, and printed out the lyrics to our wedding song and put that in the 3rd spot.

We wanted to go away but just couldnt afford it right now w/me still being unemployed & DH not having the time to take off from work. So we have settled to come down to LI for the weekend: So Fri the 6th we are playing golf w/ my parents & having dinner with them, Sat the 7th we get a limo from our limo company we used for our wedding day for 4 hrs so we're going to try & find a nice local restaurant on the water out on the north fork somewhere, and Sunday the 8th (our actual anniversary) our wedding band is playing @ Casino's Bar on FI so we will be spending the day there & hoping some friends & family will join us too! *Anyone is welcome to come to FI if they want to - we welcome anyone who likes to dance & listen to good music!*

We went to Bloomingdale's and let each person pick out something. I guess that's kinda lame, but we spent a night at one of the really nice places in the city, saw the Philharmonic, and then went out to eat at a nice restaurant. So it was kind of more about the experience than what we got each other.

DH got my two charms for my pandora bracelet and he had our enlarged weddign photo matted and framed. I got him cigars and puka dog sauces from Hawaii that he had when we were on our honeymoon. We went to Mystic and Foxwoods for the weekend and did some more shopping there. It was a wonderful anniversary. : )
