Spinoff of Valentine Girls Question (if you don't mind me asking)

I am a beer drinker and I am told this looks unclassy at weddings (for a bride to drink from a beer bottle), I can drink wine, but I was wondering how you drank your drink of choice on your big day. Did you just drink it when you sat down, did you walk around with a glass. I personally have been to weddings where brides drank from a bottle, but then i have heard people say this is not classy....I don't want to be wasted for my wedding but I would like a drink or two......

Re: Spinoff of Valentine Girls Question (if you don't mind me asking)

I stuck to white wine. I figure that if i spilled it on my dress it wouldn't show as much.

If you like beer, just have them put it in a glass for you.

Its your day...drink what you like!

Re: Spinoff of Valentine Girls Question (if you don't mind me asking)

I guess we are unclassy crew then...we had Dhs favorite beer from Trinidad and EVERYONE was drinking out of the bottle, including my very first Professor who is a DR. and the classiest man I know! We figured it was our wedding,,our guest list was small..only very close family and friends..we didnt feel like we needed to impress anyone..we drank what we wanted and had a good time! classy or not!

I didn't even hardly drink anything...except water, at the end of the nite I was so thirsty!!
When we got to the hotel, they had champagne chilling for us. That was the first real drink I had all nite!!

Re: Spinoff of Valentine Girls Question (if you don't mind me asking)

I drink beer too, but had white wine that day. I kept having a glass, but putting it down, and the maitre d had another one waiting. DH said there were probably Corona bottles all over the place that were full because he kept putting them down. I also did shots with my friends. Drink whatever you want. If worst comes to worse drink the beer out of a glass...

Re: Spinoff of Valentine Girls Question (if you don't mind me asking)

I think I started off with a couple of whisky sours and I think I carried them around with me. Then I switched to beer and I prefer it in a bottle, so that's how I drank it. I've heard people say that a bride with a bottle of beer in her hand doesn't look classy - but - JMO - I really think that's just silly - it's your day, do what you want. I don't why it should bother anyone.

Re: Spinoff of Valentine Girls Question (if you don't mind me asking)

I am also a beer drinker and prefer it from the bottle as well. I just don't like beer with food...so on my wedding day I mostly drank either stoli-O with 7-up or captain and cokes. I did always have a drink in hand as I moved around the room (my mom, aunts and maitre d was on top of that). For the most part I didn't take it on the dance floor (only in the early night - when I needed the drink to get the edge off - I don't like to dance on a quiet dance floor or be the center of attention). I pretty much did what I would do at anyone's wedding as far as drinking. I never got drunk though - I think I kept losing my drink - which is good because I didn't want my wedding day tainted by too much to drink! At the after hours party I did drink beer from a bottle!

I am not into what I look like and someone may not think it is appropriate - I wanted to be totally 100% myself on my wedding day. If I want beer from a bottle I will drink beer from a bottle (PS my MIL said to me before my wedding that I am not allowed to drink beer from a bottle - she is into how you will look and I am not - I told her I think the bride should be who she is and if she likes drinking beer from a bottle she most certainly should.)

Re: Spinoff of Valentine Girls Question (if you don't mind me asking)

I drank martitin's (mainly blue ones), vodka and cran and a few beers.

There are a few shots w/ beer bottles in our hands- oh well, it was our day.

Neicey-LOL- and I totally agree... you are who you are, and your wedding day shouldn't change that.
