Spinoff to First Loves..When was the first time you had your heart TRULY broken??

I've been in some really bad breakups and unfortunately I've been the one to do the breaking up as well. But which was the worst for you??

Actually it was DH. We were only 15 at the time but I knew that it was 'real' and he just wanted to hang out with his friends. . . he invited me out but then ditched me for his friends and when I confronted him he was like I think we should break up.

I cried so hard, he had to carry me home he ended up having to ask my mother for help b/c he didnt know what to do with me. . .

I was devastated. I know it was a stupid breakup and we were young but thinking back on it now makes me feel ill. My mother had to spoon feed me pastina and my friends came over with gelato but nothing worked.

We ended up getting back together a few months later, I even dated someone in between but I THANK GOD never had to feel like that again, it was awful.

See first loves post..... he was cheating with someone he met online. BUT he did end up marrying her, AND now I'm with DH who is my absolute best friend! so it was meant to be

i remember i was in 6th grade! (lol) there was this boy who was friends with my cousin that i just looved.. we were 'boyfriend & girlfriend' for such a short time, but when he broke up with me i remember just being SO upset! i just cried & cried! it was the first time i ever truly felt 'hurt' by a boy! lol...after that, it wasn't untill the situation that i wrote about in the other thread that i ever felt that kind of heartache again..

DH is my only 'true love'. We borke up years ago (we have been together for 10 years) adn that was hard. I must say I cant say he broke my heart b/c I broke up with him. My heart was broken but it was b/c of me.

omg that kid I mentioned in the other post Chris. I was 14 and just INFATUATED with him. he was such a jerk to me too.

he only wanted to hang out outside of school and completely ignored me in front of people at school he didnt want anyone to know we were together. then he asked me to the big 9th grade dance and I got all excited because I thought he would start letting us be 'public' but a month before the dance (after i got a dress and we put in for a limo and he matched his tux vest to the color of my dress) he writes me a note saying he's taking someone else and then tells everyone how he dumped me before the dance

ETA: this isnt my worst, but its the first time I really felt broken over a guy

Mine is really hard b/c my first BF was someone I started dating in HS. we dated for a little over 3 yrs (into college) and one day we both agreed that we 'need some space' well after time apart I decided that we should work on being together again. He had other plans and I found out he was dating one of my VERY good friends (ex friend now of course) behind my back. They met a few times at some get togethers and apparently 'hit it off' so needless to say when i found out i was completely devastated!!! then as time went on I thought 'Oh THANK GODDDDDD she came along and took him away from me b/c he's fat, gross and such an a$$hole' So it was almost like a blessing in disguise. At the time of course it hurt soooo much.

A few years later I started dating someone. It was long distance (he was in jersey and in the military) we hit it off right away. I mean we were INSEPARABLE from day 1. He got orders to do his first tour overseas, we decided to stay together. I did everything I possibly could for him in the year he was away. Kept in touch with his family, sent him packages, letters almost everyday etc. Then one day out of nowhere, about a month before he was scheduled to end his tour, he called me up and basically said he wanted nothing to do with me. I was in such a state of depression for months and months. I lost a ton of weight, I basically locked myself in my room and didn't talk to anyone. We spoke when he came home (he didn't even TELL me when he got home) and I found out that he was with someone else while he was there and he told me something that had happened between the both of them that I will NEVER forgive him for. A few months later we tried working it out but in the end I decided that the damage was done. I wasted enough energy on someone who's head clearly wasn't in it. After all that (there's a TON more to this story) I decided that this was definitely my WORST break up. It still breaks my heart that it ended the way it did.

But we are friends now. i've moved on (obviously lol) and he is now engaged to a not so attractive girl. He's currently deployed..better her than me

I was junior in HS...I thought I was going to die, it was awful...it was the first and last time Iever felt that way (THANK GOD) Ultimately I moved on went away to school and he tried and tried for years .... we were off and on, but honestly I could never take him back . I honestly felt and feel that he knew how hurt I was and I could not trust ANYONE who could make me feel that way. DH has never made me feel that way for a second, neither of us has ever from the day we met mentioned the word BREAKUP regardless of the fight. When you really love someone you should not be so quick to let them go and if you do...your a fool...JMHO

The same guy I talked about in my post. Justin. He really had me going. He told me he was going to ask the record company if I could come with him to Europe to promote some stuff over there. I really believed everything. He was maybe 2 years older than I am. He just seemed like the perfect guy. I remember getting a message from him while I was at work telling me that he was in town. And I asked to leave early. I took the LIRR to BB Kings and hung out back stage with him and some of the band guys. Then we drove around NJ looking for a hotel for the group. Well, everyone else was asleep when we got to the parking lot, so we just booked a room for ourselves. Little did I know that all he wanted from me that night was one thing, and b/c I didn't want to give in, he treated me like CRAP! It totally ruined me mentally. I didn't want to date anyone for years after him...or even have sex! There was more to the story, but I don't want to post it. I have recovered from that night, but not 100%. It's the reason why I am so closed off to people sometimes. It was a bad night. He gave me money to take a cab back to Penn Station and I never saw him again!

as I posted in the other post, DH was my first love, did he break my heart at one point? yes, when I decided to end our relationship because of disagreements.

Dana broke my heart, cuz I couldn't dance. She didn't even want me around. But now I'm back to let her know, I can really shake 'em down.

When I was 20. My jerk of an ex (how I put up with him for 2 years is beyond me) decided that he wanted nothing to do with me anymore because I wasn't old enough. Mind you he was 23. I was devastated. I have great family and friends that helped me get over it. I finally had my closure with him 5 years later. (At this point I was with DH). My ex called me up randomly to tell me stuff that was going on with his life and said how he always loved me and doesn't know why he was so stupid. I told him he was and to get over me
