I've been in some really bad breakups and unfortunately I've been the one to do the breaking up as well. But which was the worst for you??

It was actually DH. DH and I had been together for 6 years and our relationship was kind of at this place where I felt like I wanted a proposal. DH felt like he was young and wasn't ready. After a while we felt like we wanted some time apart. It was the worst 4 months of our lives. After 3 weeks DH wanted to get back together, but I felt like now I needed time. It was very hard, I never cried so much in my entire life. Eventually it all just worked out, we got back together and in 2 months we were engaged.

When DH and I broke up about 4 months after we starting dating, that was BAD. Worst ever. He had gotten a call from a very manipulative ex (who had treated him like crap while they were together) and she was saying she was going to come visit, you should break up with the girl you're with, etc. And he tried to, but it lasted 1 day. I had to call in sick to work, I was devastated.
There was a guy i loooooved in middle school - thought he was just so cute and awesome - but he did not like me and he let it be known. that very much hurt me. i liked him for like 2 years.
other than that - all my other breakups were mutual or my doing. well, there was a guy who went to college with a friend of mine who i was very much into but we just couldn't make it work - i don't remember crying over him but i was upset when it wasn't working out. i consider him 'the one that got away.'

DH is my first and last love but he went to France for a month abroad about a year and a half into our relationship. While he was there, he sent like one line emails, never said I love you or miss you in any of them, and he just basically checked out of the relationship. When he came back he was completely different (in a good way) and we kind of worked through it but it was basically a month long SLOW heartbreak.
