Spinoff to I was born in an elevator thread...

My mom miscalculated her period and from what she told the doctors, they told her she was due in February... well, on December 31st I was ready to come out... my grandma was so made at her b/c they didn't have her baby shower yet!!!

I arrived at 6:23 in the morning... just in time for a tax deduction

That's great! You're a new years eve baby. It's so funny that it wasn't THAT long ago but the technology has come such a long way

Yeah, they were telling her to prepare for a big baby b/c i was 6 pounds in December!!!!

but you are right, that was almost 28 years ago.... now they can tell you the exact moment you got preggy, lol

i was a boy that was going to be named Kyle up untill about a month or two before answer to my mommy's prayers being that i had 2 older brothers! In fact all the while she was being told i was a boy, she refused and painted my whole room pink anyway! guess mother's always know best

I was early too but only by 2 weeks (I think its the name Jess)

It was a BLIZZARD outside and my mom's water broke while they were sleeping on their convertable sofa bed (YUCK!) My uncles were sleeping over - they were 13 and 14 and one of my uncles was in the middle of doing the movie Taps- My father did like Mach 40 going to the hospital and scared the sh!t out of my mom.


Then in the delivery room my parents had an argument about what to name me. I think they had the baby names set at Jessica or Robert Jr.- the nurse (distracting my mom) asked what names and my mom blurts out RYAN! so my parents start fighting about it as I was coming out of her [email protected] I was a girl so I solved that one!

My uncle wrote a story for school about the whole night on a typewriter and showed everyone on the set of the movie. About a month after I was born I got to go meet the guys on the movie set because my uncle went back and told them all about the crazy night he had I think there's a pic somewhere of Tom Cruise (when he was normal)and Timothy hutton holding me

My mom was 7 months when she found out she was having twins-me! The only problem was that they just bought a house that was too small for 3 kids (we have an older brother). They had to sell and buy another one-oops.

My son was born in a foot of snow and took an 1 1/2 to get to the hospital. They wanted to send me home, but I refused. He should have been born 6 hours later, but they gave me too much drugs. We had to wait another 3 for them to wear off. Had I left, we probably would not have made it back in time. I had a dream he was going to be born on the 9th, 19th or 29th in a snowstorm. We got to the hospital b4 mid on the 19th in a snowstorm. His name also came to me in a dream.

because most twins are done by a c section...we were both born naturally so it took longer

Okay I will share all of my mom's stories ( sorry mom! )

When my mom was pregnant with my sister she saw Rosemary's baby in the theater and that night she found her first stretch marks and was hysterically crying that the devil was scratching her. LOL my mom's mom passed when she was very young so she didn't know anything. . . my dad had to explain a lot of stuff to her about the pregnancy. . .

When my brother was being born, it was a HORRIBLE blizzard ( April 1971 ) and my dad couldnt get home from work. My mom and our neighbor went door to door until they could find a neighbor to drive her to the hospital - someone she never met before drove her in an ice storm!

As for me, my sister was 14 and my brother was 12 when she went to the GYN to explain that she was going through menopause. The doctor AND nurse come into the room hysterically laughing and tell her she is pregnant. She was like um no i said MENOPAUSE LOL she didnt believe it and she didnt tell my dad for a week she was so upset

And then I was born in a regular hospital room bc the doctors thought my mom was exagerating about her pain level and there was the top of my head when they checked!!!

OH YEAH and my mom called my dad to say she was on her way to the hospital and he STAYED at his company's Christmas party!!! LOL my mom said that dads didnt come into teh room all teh time back then . . .

Wow..amazing. I have a similiar story..but a sad one. My mom was preggo with my brother but they didnt know she was carrying twins until she was giving birth...some how they screwed up and one of my brothers died a few days later after birth...Sorry to be a downer..its just that ur story is pretty similar to my brother(s)
