I took out a steak on Tuesday night to thaw out for Wednesday's dinner. I did not end up cooking it yesterday bc we went by my inlaws for dinner. Is the steak good to cook tonight? It has been in the fridge since the frozen state...
yes definately what kind of cut is it? before you decide to cook it, put LOTS N LOTS of kosher salt on it, and let it sit for 15 minutes, a lot of water will come out of the steak and wash it.... it wont be salty, but it will taste amazing!
I hate to be the odd woman out, but I wouldn't cook it...I would toss it...You can't defrost steak and then put it back in the fridge/freezer...at least that's what I was told

Some people are just extra careful... While I dont like doing this, I have on occassion and have never gotten sick yet ... knock on wood...

i defrosted it in the fridge on Wednesday and then cooked it Thursday. DH ate it and is fine- thank god!
