Sunday Movie Review Time!

Whoopsy - can't believe I forgot to post!!!! We saw a few flicks this past week!

Hellboy 2 - I liked this a lot, but I also liked the first one a lot as well. I thought the story was very interesting and went a few places I wasn't expecting. Dave thought it was okay - he liked it better than the first, but didn't like it as much as he or his best friend did.

Batman, the Dark Knight - only complaint: the whispering voice of batman is starting to bug me.... come on dude - with ALL the technology in that suit - you can't have them give you a voicebox to disguise your voice? That being said - the movie was WONDERFUL!!!! Very good action, suspense, etc...NOT appropriate for those under 13 - it was a very 'heavy' movie. Not a lot of hope, lots of people died, etc.. Dave liked it a LOT...we will likely see it again, maybe next time in Imax.

Journey to the Center of the Earth - NOT in 3d (saw at drive-in). I liked it very much...i thought the story moved, it didn't stall much and was fun. Dave thought it was only okay. I'd like to see it in 3D - my dad did and said it was the best 3D he's ever seen in his life...

Showing on the other screen at the drive in was Mama Mia and I now kinda want to see it - it looked like such a fun movie. Dave said he'd rather pull his eyes out from their sockets using a plastic fork than see that one though..so i may have to check that out on my own...

Re: Sunday Movie Review Time!

oh yeah & Dave saw:

The Ruins - it was entertaining and had some good, gory parts to it - even the premise doesn't make it a bad movie....(don't want to include the premise as it's a spoiler). All in all, a fine, family film.

That's all him - i didn't watch!!

Last Night:

The Bank Job: VERY interesting movie. You HAVE to pay attention to it - there is a LOT of stuff going on (seriously, sorry for all the caps, but wow, there are like 10 things going on in any one scene). What made it all the more insane was the fact that it's based on a true story & they kept to that story amazingly well. Jason Statham can do no wrong in my book, but Dave liked it too - he thought it was really interesting and kept asking if i was paying attention (since i was on LIW with you ladies)....because there really was so much going on.

There is even a short doc in the extras that shows footage/photos from the crime files and recordings & they really did try to recreate the scenes!

I let the kids see it ( they are 7 & 9) and I honestly dont think that kids that age get any of the heavy stuff by any means ....they see it as a super hero movie.....there wasnt much blood or gore at all compared to other super hero movies was much more appropriate for kids then alot of them.

i was just stating our opinion...dave & i discussed it at length on the way home and neither of us felt it was okay & he usually disagrees with me on that type of stuff, but not this time. i get that a lot of things would go over their heads, but just our 2 cents.

DH and i saw this in the theater, and loved it! it's such a clever movie, and jason can def do no wrong on the screen. we went in thinking it would be OK, and left loving it! i didn't realize it was out on DVD already, time to see it again, especially cause i want to see the extras about the real story.

Re: Sunday Movie Review Time!

i loved it!!! we saw it the weekend it came out. I thought Heath did an amazing job he had everything down to perfection!!
I kinda agree with both on the kid factor ...i don't think kids would really get some of the stuff in the movie so it would be ok to see but...i know i saw IT when i was like 11 and i couldnt sleep for a month lol i still to this day can NOT watch that movie at night just the face of the clown bugged me out so joker might be pretty scary to some kids....i honestly think it depends on the kids tho...

there were some parts i wish would HAVE been more graphic lol like the pen ( or pencil) part i dont wanna spoil it.....i was hoping that would have been more graphic lol but thats just me!
