Which supermarket do you shop at? (Stop and Shop, King Kullen, etc?) Which chain do you think has the best prices?
Also – have you used PeaPod? Good/bad?
We just moved and there’s a Waldbaum’s right near us, but I don’t really like the layout of it and I’m wondering if it’s worth driving a little more to find one I like better.

i shop and stop and shop, part because i work there part time, and the other part because i do believe they have the cheapest prices! oh and not that this is really great or anything, but they do give us 5% discount...
never used peapod, mainly because im at the store all the time, i really have no excuse to be lazy and have it deleivered! haha but it is really great! i would use it if i wasnt there all the time

Stop and Shop usually because its closer then King Kullen, but I often go to King Kullen because they absolutely have the best deals. They very often have steaks that are ridiculously cheap and yummy. We can afford to have steak once a week because I go there when its on sale, buy it and freeze it.
I go through the circular every week and decide if I am hitting Stop and Shop or King Kullen or both. I rarely hit others except maybe Walbaums for a really good deal.
I HATE Pathmark.

mostly stop & shop because its 2 blocks away from our house, but depending upon what they have on sale I will go the extra way and go to Pathmark or King Kullen

I shop at Stop & Shop. I actually go to Target first and get everything I can there and then what I couldn't get at Target I will go to Stop and Shop. There is a Pathmark across the street and the three times I have gone there I get annoyed because they never have what I am looking for. I find that King Kullen is a little on the expensive side and I do not like Waldbaums at all.
Since I work near John's Farms I will go there occasionally and pick up meat and produce because their prices are great! They also sell Boars Head and I find that they are cheaper than most places.

I buy all organic so mostly i buy at Wild by Nature but i do go to Stop & Shop as well.

By the way - if you are talking about the Waldbaums on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa - I hate the layout of that one!!! My mom lives in Amityville and I'll stop at the Stop & Shop on Merrick Road there. Also, on Park Blvd in Massapequa Park, the IGA is really good - small but they have good stuff.

Kristen, how far are you from Wantagh? I go to the Iavarones on Wantagh Ave and Jerusalem...its amazing. Pricey but amazing.
For everyday stuff I go to Stop and Shop on Jerusalem and Newbridge and then for meats, I go to Pat's Farms in Merrick...

No, it’s the one on Jerusalem and Hicksville Rd… it’s like 2 blocks from my house. I mean I’ve only been there twice, so maybe I just have to get used to it. But when I was there last time I felt like I went from one side of the store to the other about 5 times trying to find stuff!

Ooh I didn’t realize there was a Stop and Shop that close! Stop and Shop is my favorite… DH tells me it’s the most expensive but I think they have pretty good prices.

LOL i dont mean to be a stop and shop crazy lady, but stop and shop actually do have the lowest prices! look at the compair and save tags! (i use to hang those up! LOL) i dont know about sales tho

I go to whoever has the best sales for what we need that week... I end up flip flopping between Waldbaums or Pathmark...
& I get produce from Best Yet (or Meat Farms)..you save a ton of $$!

i love bests!!!!!!!! they just opened one on the corner right where my apt was, so if i didnt feel like driving to stop and shop, i would walk to bests!!

I go to Waldbaum's for my weekly shopping, and I'll go to Stop and Shop only if they're having a sale on something I want that Waldbaum's isn't (like chicken, hummus, creamers, etc.). Usually I've found though that the two stores tend to have the same things on sale for more or less the same price the same week. I'll go to Trader Joe's for all our frozen foods.

I've used peapod and fresh direct.
I normally would go to Stop and Shop. And there is a new met food, very small that was near my old apt so if we needed something quick we would run there instead of a corner deli.
I like stop and shop... but I prefer the super stop and shop to the regular one.
Peapod is OK. I had to have it delivered when DH was working 2 full time jobs and I had both mine and my pain in the arse grandmother's food shopping to do.
Fresh Direct is FAB!! LOVE their fresh foods!! You get wayyyy better fresh foods there than the entire selection is at stop and shop! At least IMO... from the stores around here.
