Can anyone recommend a really excellent sushi place in Manhattan? Gotta take DH for his birthday!

i love yama---the nicer of the two restaurants is on 49th and 2nd. their spicy tuna roll with tempura flakes is amazing!

Japonaise on E.18th Street -- hands down one of the freshest and best tasting sushi i have ever eaten. All of their food is amazing but their speciality is sushi and its delicious.

NOBU is supposed to be amazing. My sister went there and she loved it but you need to make reservations a few weeks in advance she said!

I love Koodo Sushi downtown. I think they opened up one in midtown a year ago. Best Spicy tuna I have had.

My favorites are Nobu and Yama. If you go to Yama, be sure to get the Fried Green Tea ice cream for dessert.

Yama and aja are both definitely good. There is a place called Tomoe in the village which is also excellent. Not fancy, but reallly good sushi. I personally find Nobu to be very overrated, especially for sushi.
