Bloody Mary's is a restaurant on Bora Bora that you should check out.

As far as things to do.... some of the activities at our resort included:

-manta ray feeding/petting excursions
-shark feeding excursions
-sunset/sunrise catamaran cruises
-private horseback riding on a private beach
-scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, kayaking, outrigger canoeing
-4x4 jeep tours, helicopter tours

As far as nightlife, you may find a few actual bars and/or clubs on Tahiti but there's is no nightlife on Bora Bora. The resorts and hotels have shows (around the weekend) with polynesian dancers and live music but I believe that's the extent of it.

ETA: how could I forget -- go shopping for black pearls!! Here's a tip - do your homework on Black Pearls before you go that way you are already informed. We ended up having to use the internet over there to get some info before we went shopping!!

Buy your black pearls loose and have them set at home, you will save a lot of money, and also make sure you are going to a reputable jeweler.

In Bora Bora, I would also recommend dining at Bloody Mary's because it's kind of a must-do experience if one goes to Bora Bora and the seafood is excellent. Then for a less touristy place and where more locals go I would recommend the Bora Bora Yatch Club and for lunch there's this cute Snack Bar that is right on Matira beach where you can get some good burgers/grill fish sandwiches.

I highly suggest going on the 4x4 safari tours around the island - you get to see amazing views of the island. If you scuba dive, then you definitely should schedule a dive - we did one with shark feeding.

That is hard to say because the pricing varies greatly depending on the size, color, quality and shape of the pearl. You can expect to spend at least a couple hundred up to a thousand maybe for a single pearl. You should shop around to get an idea of costs/quality before you buy. Moorea is supposed to have the most stores.

The problem with buying unset pearls, which I did, is finding/having a good pearl jeweler to get it set. I still have not gotten my pearl set!

I got my black pearl at the Motu Pearl farm in Tahaa. It was very reasonable.
I got one for me and my sister. Actually DH bought me mine.
I got my set at a very good jeweler, Fm mail me if you want the name of the place. It is the only place I would go to get this done. I got mine set in white gold on an exhancer for a pearl necklace or I can wear it on a chain. My sister picked out a diamond and white gold setting for hers. I hope this helps.

In Moorea we went on the jeep island tour which was great. we did our shopping in Moorea. Bora Bora we went shark feeding and snorkeling. Bloody Mary's was a great restaurant, during the day there is a great take out spot in Bora Bora for a light lunch, in the evening, we had this amazing dinner from this local barbeque that was set up in in the parking lot behind the dock area in Bora Bora, huge marinated steaks and french fries with lomein noodles that were mixed with veggies, we took the food to go and ate it back at our hotel. It was so inexpensive compared to the steep prices at all the hotels.
