Thanks so much for asking! It means so much!!

Mom's surgery isn't until 3:45 but she's been at the hospital since 8. It's a loooong day. I'm leaving school early so I can be there for the surgery. Both my sisters are there.

Guess I might as well explain...they found a cancerous lump in her breast and they have to remove it. We don't know if it has spread yet but they feel pretty positive it hasn't - she might only need radiation (I PRAY!). They also found something in the other breast but they doubt it is anything- but they are still doing an MRI/biopsy on it so that explains the looooong day.

I'm weird when it comes to things like these- I guess I hate sharing bad news. I've had some friends (not just you, DInae ) wonder why I took so long to tell them....

but the more good thoughts from the rest of you, the better! So THANK YOU!! You girls are amazing!!

Awww we will keep thinking good thoughts and I'm sure everything will turn out fine!! The anticipation of waiting until the surgery starts is the hardest part.

My friend's mom recently went through this - she had had breast cancer before (totally different set of circumstances so don't get scared!!) and she beat it, and then they found a lump. It turned out to be so small and self-contained that she didn't even need radiation!! If caught early, these things are getting easier to treat. So hopefully the same will be true for your mom.
