What tattoos do you have? How many? and what are their meanings.
I know this has been posted before..but what the heck.
I have a blue rose on my right leg. It was a cover up of a band logo that I used to have. I actually thoguht the only way to cover red and black was with black, so I expected to get a black rose, but he made it blue and I was so happy to not have to have a big black rose on my leg lol
I have a profile of a woman 'Day of the Dead' skull on my left leg as well. The Mexican Holiday, Dia De Los Muertos, is celebrated on November 1st, which happens to also be my birthday. I love the idea of the day and the artwork I have seen for it is amazing, so I asked my artist to draw something up for me similar to something I had seen before and he came up with what I have now. :) I love it so much.
Can't wait to get more!
sorry, I just took a pic of my legs while sitting here at work and resized in paintshop lol

Re: tattoos
1. tribal butterly in the tramp stamp spot i was 18, it was my first tattoo - basically that about sums it up even though it doesn't really have a meaning it still marks a point in my life - being spontaneous, young and crazy
2. a chinese character on the back of my neck - very personal to me, only like 2 people know why i really got it but the meaning of it translates close to 'forgiving'/'forgive'
3. our wedding date in roman numerals on my neck - self explanatory - DH and i have matching

Re: tattoos
I dont have any. If I ever get one, it will probably be something very tiny like our wedding date and date of kids births when we have them or something like that. Im not sure where i would get them though. Maybe my wrist? I dunno... is that too Angelina of me?

Re: tattoos
I have 4.
#1 My first one i got when i was 18 which i'm not too crazy about anymore (thinking about covering it) is a tribal heart and butterfly on my upper right shoulder blade.
#2 When my BIL was getting married i went with his wife, her cousin, and my other BIL's wife to VA Beach and we all got a matching flower with a curly stem on our left inner ankle.
#3 DH and i got matching tattoos a few years back. Its the day we met in roman numerals. I have them on the front of my shoulders and he has them bigger on his shoulder blades.
#4 I always knew i wanted stars somewhere but just never found the right ones and one day i walked into the tattoo parlor with my DH (who went to finish up one of his, he has both arms done, stomach and chest) and there it was. I have 5 of them behind my right ear.
I love tattoos and want more but have to be careful about where i put them. If I didn't have an office job i would do a sleeve!!!!!!

I have a tattoo of my dad's name on my rib cage because I really wanted him by my side when I walk down the aisle. Surrounding it is a branch of plum blossoms with 5 flowers, each representing a member of my family. The one on the upper left is not on the branch because my dad is in heaven. I chose plum blossoms because they bloom in the winter and it's a Chinese flower. We (my family) immigrated to the US during a snow storm and it marked the beginning of a new life for us. I saw my first snow at JFK airport and everytime it snows I think of him.
this is a gorgeous tattoo; plus it has a beautiful story behind it. I would like a tattoo but will only get one when I can connect a meaning to it. I wanted match tattoo’s with DH to represent our union, but he is against me getting a tattoo.

Re: tattoos
I have three tats:
1- on my navel I got it when I was 16. Its a heart with a scroll that says my name. Not very creative but I was 16. This one I want to get removed 2- I have a butterfly with a tribal or wings around it on my lower back (Tramp Stamp). I got this tat before I left to college. This was my first time being away from home and it symbolized me spreading my wings to embrace all the positive changes my life would take. 3- I have a roman numeral infinity with our wedding date. On the inside of the circle i have the Kanji which is the symbol of love. This tat is on my hip on the left side of my body.

Thank you! Why is your DH against you getting a tattoo if he already has one? I say go for it!

Re: tattoos
wow, some beautiful tats on here!! they put mine to shame, lol.
i have 3 (pics below).
first got the wings, which i still love! he painted them on freehand and did very light colors. i got them after my dad passed away, sort of in memory of him and they also have a few special meanings to me. then the chinese symbols, which i now regret. lol i like what they stand for- love, strength, faith (hopefully that is what they stand for haha)... I just dont like that it was like a 'fad' tattoo. maybe ill get that taken off one day. then i got my yellow butterfly (based off a picture i gave him, didnt want it cartoony), which id like to get cleaned up a bit, and brighten up the yellow since that fades kinda quickly. it also represents my dad. from the time he passed away, it has always been our way of knowing he is around. there are too many examples of this to list here!
Ive thought about getting another... the 'five solas,' somewhere. maybe down the back of my right shoulder in a cool font: Sola scriptura ('by Scripture alone') Sola fide ('by faith alone') Sola gratia ('by grace alone') Solus Christus ('Christ alone') Soli Deo gloria ('glory to God alone') - DH has this one across his back too.

Re: tattoos
cleaned up how??? It looks great! It looks so real!
Ahhh PA! Darn you lol I still like my guy, I will stick with him, but your guy does great work.
I also like the Chinese letters (not really a fan of that kind of stuff) but the lettering is really great b/c alot of artist will make the lines more 'thick' ya know? I like how thin the lines are, b/c then after time they wont 'bleed' together. Did you ask for it like that or did they just do it that way?

i dont know.. its been a while and things have faded some since then. so maybe to go back and have the yellow put back in and highlight with white again. maybe crisp up some of the lines.
as for the letters, im pretty sure she showed me three options for the font/thickness and i chose that one.

Re: tattoos
I have 7 tattoos. I don't have pics of all of them right now. You've given me a task.
1. Multi colored and black stars on my left foot.
2. Tiny blue daisy on inside right ankle.
3. Black tribal like vine on half of right ankle.
4. Multi colored tribal like design on left calf. (I hate this one and I want to get it removed)
5. Mid blue and black infinity symbol on inside of left wrist.
6. Moon and stars on low back.
7. Open peony and cherry blossoms on back of my neck. (this was a coverup job and it it my favorite one hands down.)
