Re: Tax money
We are hopefully going to Ireland so some of the money will go to that. DH needs a new laptop for work so he might treat himself to one of those.

Re: Tax money
It'll probably go right back into the house! I'm getting my taxes done Friday so I'll know more then.

Re: Tax money
I'm treating my savings account, and possibly some of my credit card debt. So in that case, I think I bought myself about 10 pairs of shoes last year with this year's money.

Re: Tax money
I doubt we're going to get anything back....DH has it set up where he owes at the end of the year rather than gets back, and I always end up owing state but getting back on federal for some reason...so depending on how we file this year I don't know what we'll get. Anything we do get will probably go in to savings.

Re: Tax money
Not this year, we are using it to pay down the credit card bills that we built up as a result of DH being on salary reduction for 2009 and me not working. So glad the salary cuts are over. Maybe next year.

Re: Tax money
i have it spet already in my head!!
a cruise, paying down some debt, redoing our bathroom...
who know what we actually get back!!! maybe we can do ONE!!
I actually heard that sometimes it is more beneficial to continue to file on your own...

Re: Tax money
Most of it is going into savings, and I'm paying off the rest of one of my student loans.
DH and I calculated how much we are getting back this year and it's waaaaay more than I ever expected ... so it's hard for me to do 'good' things with it! When it wasn't much it was OK, but now ... I'm like, EFF my loans and our savings! Let's go on a vacation!
Oh well!

You'd be surprised. My DH usually gets back under a thousand and I usually get a couple of hundred. After being married and filing together we are getting a few thousand! So happy about that! I hope you're pleasantly surprised too.

Whatever we get back is going to pay some cc bills and go towards the house and savings for when/if I am on maternity leave this year (keeping fingers crossed that this is our month )
