Tea Pot Question (stupid!)

I got a tea kettle and tea pot that match my dishes as a gift. (Both are nice...)
Now, I know I boil the water in the kettle which goes on the stove...

What on earth do I do with a tea pot??? I dont usually make tea, so I am not sure what the tea pot is for.

Re: Tea Pot Question (stupid!)

You could use the teapot to serve the tea to your guests, so you don't have bring the stove kettle to the table. I suppose if you and your family/friends don't drink tea, you could use it to serve coffee.

ps - I think it's a lovely china pattern

Thanks so much Claud...
I am thinking of maybe returning it for something else in my pattern...but who knows.

Re: Tea Pot Question (stupid!)

Christy - As Claud said, you can use it to serve a big pot of tea for guests. Mine comes in handy when I am sick. I make one big pot and keep it on the counter.

Re: Tea Pot Question (stupid!)

You can use it to steep fresh tea leaves (I use a piece of cheesecloth with some string) or several tea bags. Remove them when the tea is strong enough. They have tea cozies to put over the pot to keep the water hot inside. A dishtowel works well too.
Done in the afternoon with tea sandwiches or small danishes, you will feel very British.

P.S. You never know when patterns are discontinued so I would advise you not returning it. You may regret it in the future. It is very cute.

Re: Tea Pot Question (stupid!)

Tea Pots are sooo nice when you have a formal dinner party or a holiday dinner. And you can also use it as a pretty vase (with the top off) for a centerpiece at a nice lunch or dinner.

Re: Tea Pot Question (stupid!)

It's also a nice size for serving hot cocoa in front of a fireplace on a cold winter day, or when DH serves you breakfast in bed! (The last suggestion is just pure fantasy for me, so don't get jealous - DH would be challenged to serve a cold bowl of cereal, but I can dream, can't I? )

Re: Tea Pot Question (stupid!)

I use mine to steep the tea for homemade Iced Tea in the summer. As a matter of fact, I made a pot the other day. There's nothing like fresh brewed iced tea on a hot summer day.

I wouldn't return it. I keep mine displayed on a shelf with the S&P, Sugar & Creamer, Gravy Boat, etc. It looks really nice to have everything matching.

I also agree about the vase suggestion.
