My DH's friend is getting married next summer and they decided to do a combined bachelor/bachelorette party. The intention right now is to do a week at the shore, where all the guys and girls share a house.
I would have no problem if my DH said we are going to Vegas for 5 days, but to tell me you are spending a week in a house with other girls that I don't know....I do have a problem with that, and for the first time want to put my foot down. Most of the guys are married and most of the girls are single.
What would you do?

Are you invited?
If not, then I'd give that one a big, fat NO. We're not in college anymore

NO SPOUSES or significant other....that's the only reason why I have a problem with!!
I'm glad I'm not alone. Sometimes I feel some of the other wives don't say anything so they don't look bad...well I have no problem standing up to my DH when I feel it's something important!

agree! this is nuts! the to-be married couple should've thought this through! i would never allow my husband to go on a co-ed party for that long!

NO SPOUSES or significant other....
I have an issue with that...WHY no spouse or SOs? What exactly are they planning for this 'party' that someone can't have their S.O. there?
Sounds like trouble to me!!!

I'm thinking that they aren't thinking it through...and possibly that they have trust issues with each other.

I don't get it though. Why have a combo b-party, but tell all of the GUESTS that THEY can't have a S.O. there? That is VERY hypocritical.
They don't trust each other to go away for the weekend alone, but they expect all of the other husbands/wives to be OKAY with it?

I'm agreeing with you girls. I don't get it or even come up with an excuse for them. All the guys even think its a TERRIBLE idea!

I'm guessing they are going to have very poor attendance at this thing.
And, for the few who do attend, it's going to be
I hope it goes well with your DH

I would be very upset with this, not b/c i don't trust my DH, but b/c of the whole premise!

I would definitely not be OK with that! I think a coed party is fine...but you should be able to go.

HE!! NO!!!! DH wouldn't even want to go! What is the purpose of having it co-ed? To save money? It makes no sense!
Sorry, edited to say, yes I have a problem with this but no way would he go!

I have heard of a few of those type of parties, but people were always invited to bring their SO- that is ridiculous, as previous posters have said, we are adults now- not in college!

That would be a big NO in my book....
Absolutely NOT....there wouldn't even be a discussion about it.
