Happy Friday Newlyweds!!!



So the question today...

Since being married (or even once your relationship became 'long term') - have you noticed any changes in the relationships in your life? (Be it yours or DH's friends or family)?


A yes for me ... from the time Dave and I became serious... I have a friend that was once very dear - and while I still love her, she doesn't take the time to nurture the relationship - its very one sided now and I'm just about done trying myself.... I call and email and her responses are minimal...always 'i'll write more later' or 'I'll call you back' and then doesn't. We maybe speak now once every 6 months. It's sad.

Also I've noticed my Dad treats me more like an adult now that I have a husband. He never used to take me seriously - I'm a bit of an oddity so I just thought he didn't 'get' me... but now I see a clear change in how he speaks to me etc.

A funny - My Mom as flat out said that if DH and I were to divorce - she's choosing him..

Haha definitely! My aunts and cousins now treat me a little differently... like I kinda 'get it' more.

My mom has said that about my DH too!

I too have a friend who changed once DH and I had been dating for a while. Our friendship was one sided and when we did speak it was all about her. Last November she asked me to be in her BP and said yes, she just recently picked her date and venue and I found out through an e-mail that was meant to give contact info of the BP to everyone. She didn't come to my wedding and I finally realized that I am exhausted and done so I told her via e-mail I cannot be a bridesmaid. She hasn't responded. It's sad it has to get like that but through relationships and weddings you find out your real friends....
