Thank You Notes Question

Still don't have pics, but have started TY's - I have a question - I feel like I don't have anything to say in the TY's except for Thank you for your generous gift and we're glad you could join us. What else did you guys write? Is it ok to write abou other stuff - like if you have a friend who is expecting - can you say something about that in your TY - or should it just strictly be a TY about the wedding?

I don't see why you can't mention other things to people.

I wrote how we used the gift. I was able to say the same thing to people I knew would never talk to each other.

Example: Dear so & so,

Thank you so much for spending our wedding day with us. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

We also wanted to thank you for the extremely generous gift. We used it to buy a painting for our new home while in Alaska. It's going to look great in our living room!

Thank you again for witnessing such a special moment in our lives.

Love, Cathy & Scott

You wouldn't believe how many people paid for the one painting we bought, or how many helped to pay for new furniture for our new home. LOL

I wrote a little bit about the sites that we saw during the honeymoon.

We wrote personal things for those who we were closer to. Others Thank you for the generous gift we will be putting it towards our new siding; or we put it towards our new driveway; or the few last home improvments we needed to make. I think people like to know what they 'contirbuted to' LOL!

I mentioned things I remembered specifically about the particular guest at the wedding.

Thank you so much for sharing our day and your generous gift. We hope you had a wonderful time.

You were a real life saver while we were taking pictures durint the cocktail hour and you got some food and drinks for us.

Things like that...I mentioned if they travelled from out of town, maybe something we talked about at the wedding, etc.

For people I didnt know well, I wrote variations of thanking them for the gift and thanking htem for coming. Some people I had specific conversations with or memories of so i mentioned something there too.
