Got my new passport back from the Feds yesterday and my DH said... 'Wow, you look really hot in your picture!' Thanks babe...that's why I took 3 DIFFERENT photos to choose the 'hottest'! All that money wasn't down the drain, after all!
They also sent my old one back to me stamped canceled...I was kind of surprised by that!
So that's it...I have a new idenitity officially!

I'm having such difficulty letting go!!! My DH's last name is horrible, so I'm so scared to change it. It's so bad that his brother changed it, too!!

I'm in limbo about the name too. I changed it on the marriage license (hyphenated), but I haven't changed any of my official documents. And I'm going to Italy in September -- do I have to change my passport if nothing else is officially changed yet?

I have to say that if I had married anyone other than my DH I would not have changed my name. But it was so important to him and was a condition of marriage
Even with that, I didnt' want to do it. I posted about it on here and Goldi wrote the most amazing message and I always thought of it.
I have to say, the reality of it is much better than the anticipation and anxiety of doing it. Believe me, it's not so bad. I am using both at work and it's fine...and when I get a new job, I will use it, like others use a middle name. Just add it to my business cards, signature, etc. But I really don't care as much anymore...

I'm glad to hear you got your old passport back 'cancelled'. The thing I haven't changed my name on yet is my passport and I need to get that done soon. We are planning a trip for our 1st anniversary. I was a little upset to give up my old book and loosing my stamps.
