We're flying NY to Texas to get to Cabo and we're pretty sure our flight is going to be cancelled due to the hurricane. Continental airlines can't do anything for us until the flight is officially cancelled...so I'm sure we'll be standing there for our flight at 5 AM very angry and annoyed. Grrr!!!!!!!! Who would have thought?!

Oh Lana, SO SORRY To hear that! Yes get somewhere and relax!
They may cancel sooner than you think. American cancelled flights to Mexico the day we were supposed to leave for Hurricane Emily. We found out on Friday, and we were flying on Monday morning. So keep calling them. You may have to pay a penalty anyway--we got stuck with one on the return flight, though not on the outbound.
Did you use an agent? If you did, I would give them a call. You may even be able to change your entire honeymoon--we did, and it was a nuisance, but we didn't have to worry about storms.

Maybe you can pay a penalty and change your connecting airport from Texas to Mexico City or somewhere in California. Better to suck up the $75 penalty than to get stuck in an airport.

I hope it all works out for you! I know how you feel--we were both really worried about our honeymoon, and didn't want to switch it initially, but in th eend, it was the best thing to do.
It sounds as if the storm wasn't as bad as they predicted, so I'm hoping your flight goes on as planned.
By the time you read this, you will probably be a wife. Congratulations on your wedding!!!
