The new stairs are finally installed...still need to stain though
Well our first 'major' home improvement project is well on its way to completion.....I cannot find my 'old' stair photos now but here is one of them- you can get the idea. This is the view from the DR. They were open risers- meaning the steps had no backs to them and you get an idea of the railing/spindals.
The new ones (again, they need to be stained and painted. We are doing a 2-tone effect on them. The steps and railing and posts will be stained, the spindals and back of steps will be white)

BEAUTIFUL!! Isn't it great when something is finally complete?
edited to say, remember not to touch the raw wood until it's stained/sealed or it will turn black on you!
