'The Official Random Advice Thread'

Hi Newlyweds, I thought it would be FUN to start a Thread about Random Advice.

It can range anyway from Words of Wisdom, Favorite Sayings, Things your Grandmother used to say....etc.

You can Learn Something from Everybody

My Favorite Saying is

'What Goes Around, Comes Back Around Again'

I am a Strong Believer in that.

My favorite quote, and piece of advice is:

Doing is the best way of saying.

You can get a good look at a T-bone steak by sticking your head up a bull's ***, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it?

I heard this in a eulogy once. I thought it was the gretest saying ever I googled it and it's Bruce Lee

The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering.

'The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, struggle, suffering, loss & have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, & an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, & a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.' ~Dr. Kubler Ross.

'How far you go in life depends on being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these. ~George Washington Carver

'I'm utterly convinced t hat we are all here for one another and that every experience that everyone is having is relevant. It all counts. The universe is so extraordinarily well designed that it needs all those experiences. ~R. Buckminster Fuller

'Make no judgements. Have no expectations. And give up the need to know why things happen as they do.' ~ Carolyn Myss

'Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will ever read.' ~Unknown

'Do you know who the upright of heart are? They are those who wish what God wishes. Therefore, do not try to twist God's Will to your own, but correct your will to that of God.'

'Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible, and recieves the impossible.'

'Happiness keeps you sweet, trials keep you strong, sorrows keep you human, failures keep you humble, success keeps you glowing, but only God keeps you going!'

'To the outside world we all grow old, but not to brothers and sisters. We know eachother as we always were, know eachother's hearts, share private family jokes, remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.'

'My mother's face, her state of grace. I hope I have your strength and all your gentle ways.'

*Matthew 6:25-34 about worry:
Do Not Worry
25'Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[a]?

28'And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

i have lots! hope you girls dont mind...i love these as reminders!

Re: 'The Official Random Advice Thread'

Here are some humorous ones I found about marriage:

Whether a man winds up with a nest egg, or a goose egg, depends a lot on the kind of chick he marries.

Trouble in marriage often starts when a man gets so busy earnin’ his salt that he forgets his sugar.

Too many couples marry for better, or for worse, but not for good.

When a man marries a woman, they become one; but the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.

If a man has enough horse sense to treat his wife like a thoroughbred, she will never turn into an old nag.

On anniversaries, the wise husband always forgets the past - but never the present.

A foolish husband says to his wife, “Honey, you stick to the washin’, ironin’, cookin’ and scrubbin’. No wife of mine is gonna “work'.

“Many girls like to marry a military man - he can cook, sew, and make beds and is in good health, and he’s already used to taking orders.
