THE RAGE!

THE RAGE!

A little long but just need to get it off my chest. Does anybody have somebody at work that literally just makes you SO ENRAGED?! I am at the point where I cannot even LOOK at this person. I know my attitude is unacceptable, and I try to talk myself thru it every morning - like 'just don't let it get to you today', and like clockwork he walks in and I am FURIOUS. There is a lot of background - and the basic vein is that he's really chauvenistic - I am in a powerful position in my company, far above him in the hierarchy of things and yet...NOTHING gets through to him, and he is constantly messing up, and lying about it. Unfortunately my HUSBAND (who I work with....) LOVES HIM. It ****es me off so badly that he doesn't see thru him! It makes me doubt his judgement it really does. My husband and I have talked this through a million times, and basicaly he says we just have to 'deal with him', and 'laugh it off' because he is an asset to the company. Intellectually, I see that - EMOTIONALLY I could literally push him off a building!!!! AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH

I used to work with someone that did that to me but they were fired after 7 long long years.

I'm sorry you have to put up with him

Oh Boy - we could talk. I was actually fighting back tears yesterday at work because of attitudes and pressure I am getting, I know this is with every job, but yesterday just made me want to look in the help wanted ads. It is 2 people I am dealing with here and it drives me crazy - so I know exactly what you are talking about! I guess we just have to hang in there, until we want to make a change.

This must be an awkward and horrible situation for you. The only advice that I can give you, other than firing this person, is to just hang tough. This guy is a 'pig' and you know it ... so just be the better person.
Talking to DH and truly expressing your feelings is important. I know that you said that you did speak with him, but I think guys can have emotional 'bonds' with other guys and cause for some protection on their part. It is not healthy for you and baby to be stressed out each day at work. Your DH needs to know this!

Hugs to you!

I think everyone has gone through this one time or another in their career and it stinks!

I think Cira said it well - focus on other relationships at work to try to alleviate the stress. I know it is easier said than done.

Re: THE RAGE!

I used to work with someone like that. The situation was so bad I was picturing myself actually getting into a fist fight with her (I know this sounds awful). At that point I realized that my situation was really unhealthy and I needed to just change my perspective. So I just started ignoring her completely and only spoke to her to the bare minimum. Hang in there! If you are pregnant too you need to surround yourself with good feelings..don't let this guy stress you out!
