The View... fertility

Personally I hate The View but I watched it today because they had an episode about fertility. It scared the daylights out of me. How much harder it is after 30. I knew that, but hearing all the medical aspects of it is really scary.

I want to have a kid now so bad but DH is insistent we are not ready. He is right. Were not ready financially and him being in CT for work with me here... it doesn't work. But now I am more anxious then ever.

I watched this too and it made me want to start trying right away. I was already feeling a bit down in the dumps about this and this show certainly didn't help. Oh well...at least I have a niece now lol

I know it made me feel depressed.

I was telling DH when he called before about how your eggs decrease so rapidly. His answer to that was you just have to try that much more often. I told him I don't think it works that way.

it will drive a person crazy if you read into everything!!!!

im glad i didnt see it cuz i would be fighting with chris as we speak to start trying tonight if i did! (not that, that would be bad if it worked) but it still wouldnt change his mind that we are not ready...

Isn't it amazing how it somethng just clicks and you know you are ready? Like if you asked me a month ago I would have said nope...and yet now I am ready to go! Unfortunately our condo would bust at the seems if we added another thing to it, let alone a person! lol

im preg at 32 dont panic....

i didnt see the view, i usually watch it too

but i needed some help, i had some probs, went to a re and boom preg... sooner than i thought!!!

when you start ttc go in with an open mind and RELAX!!!! it will work out!!

my mom had me in her early 40s! you never know what life has planned. dont lose hope.

Yes all that stuff can be scary but. .

I am pregnant at 37, my sister also got pregnant at 37, my SIL also got pregnant at 38, and my cousin got pregnant at 40 - my cousin did need some help with fert treatments but the rest of us all did it fairly easily (I did do fertitlity acupuncture and took supplements but. . .)

I think in general, yes of course the younger you are the easier it is but there are so many women now who are getting preggers later and doing it well. . .so I would say, yes of course be conscious of time but try not to panic!!!!

to all - and Michelle don't worry hopefully soon things will be more in sync for you and DH - I know this CT thing is really hard on you.

I hate when the media blows this stuff out of proportion and uses scare tactics to get ratings!!!!!

My SIL had HEALTHY children at 35 and 39.
My other SIL had HEALTHY children at 33, 35, and 40.

Not saying it's good to wait too long, but honestly, there is no ticking clock on our bodies.

There is way too much stress being a NW and getting pressure from everyone 'so when are you going to have a baby?' can't I just enjoy being married for like 5 minutes? sheesh.

there are a ton of women over 30 on the pregnancy boards on LIF--everyone is different!

My mom also had me at 38! Everyones body is different and PLEASE don't take health advice from anyone besides Dr Oz

thats why i hate the media, it pisses me off lol all they ever do is scare the living daylights out of you and tell you about the rare occasions of things and dont focus on the commonalities. But really what about girls who are 23, 24 and 25yrs old having issues getting preg? i doubt they brought those poor girls up? its all about when its your time and what life has in store for you...not about how old your are. stupid view lol

This type of stuff is enough to throw anyone into a panic attack.

I'm old. DH is old. I'll be 42 in 2 weeks and DH is 43. We keep putting off TTC. However, we both recently went to get checked out and the dr told us that while she doesn't suggest we wait too much longer, we're fine and shouldn't have any problems.

Of course, that's not guarantee. Just like someone who is in their mid-20's not having any issues isn't a guarantee.

Oh yeah - and is this the same media that a few years ago had every single woman in the world panicking because they were told if they didn't marry by age 30 they were going to die alone?

yes! it's INSANE!!! the sheer number of people trying to get pregnant and having difficulties!!!! it sure puts a fire under your arse!!!



ETA: of course though you can get pregnant and be totally fine after the age of 30. it just seems, statistically that that's the cut off for egg quality and problems.

Thanks!!! It worries me because it took my mom 9 years to have a healthy baby and she started at 21. But what am I going to do, we can't have a baby with our current situation. So we just have to hope.
