The week before the wedding

What wedding related things were you doing in the week before the wedding? Many of you might know that I am planning from MD. My wedding is 7/5 (saturday) and I already have off from work on the 4th. What do you think I will be doing in the final few days that would require me to be on LI.

If I came to LI early Wed morning (7/2) I would have three full days to take care of any last minute wedding concerns. Do you think that will be enough time?

I am worried that I will be cutting it a little short, but I want to try to make it into the office a little bit in the week before the wedding.

Re: The week before the wedding

We made sure everything was done before that so we could enjoy the week before the wedding. The only big thing I can think of is the rehearsal and the dinner, which my in laws hosted so there really wasn't anything for us to do.
You may want to check and see if there are things that you need to get done on the 4th that the places you need to go will be open b/c it's a holiday.

Re: The week before the wedding

I think the last week we were paying off final payments to the vendors & confirming everything.
We had the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner.
A day or two before guys had to get their tuxes.
Girls had to pick up their dresses.
I think if you go to www.theknot and punch in your wedding date,it will give you a list of things to do.
Thats what I did.

Re: The week before the wedding

This is what I could think of off the top of my head:

Did my placecards (I used pumpkins - didn't want them to rot in advance and also I had people cancel and people say they were coming in the last week).

Final Payments to some vendors

Bring stuff to the hall and hotel (Monday and Friday before)

Day before manicure and pedicure

Couple days before waxing

Groom's tux pick-up (2 trips because of an error in the tie)

Confirm all vendors (directions, times, schedules, agendas, etc.)

Last minute decorative stuff - like bathroom baskets, hotel bags, basket for bubbles, etc.

Viewed sample bouquet and centerpieces

Rehearsal Dinner (one week before)

Tip envelopes

Confirm everything with Bridal party memebers

Buy stuff for honeymoon (travel stuff)

Re: The week before the wedding

I took off the 2 days before the wedding and it was just fine. I had planned to leave those two days to just relax but little thing kept popping up to fill my time. So as long as you go in thinking you have it all done, 3 days will be okay.

Honestly, by the time those last few days come around - you stop caring about a lot of the stuff that is freaking you out now.

Re: The week before the wedding

I took off the day before the wedding and I took a half-day the day before that. It was definitely enough time. I agree with Stef . . . By the time the week of the wedding comes around you stop freaking out about a lot of stuff. You will be fine -

Re: The week before the wedding

Thanks ladies I, like Jennbaby, am nervous about that week in particular. And I keep having dreams about remembering a million little things that I forgot to do the morning of the wedding.

I think I will work the Mon and Tue before the big day. Keith will be happy to know I will not be dragging him to LI for an entire week before
