the worst newlywed problem of them all

lately, DH has been tossing and turning in the bed and I can't sleep.

It's been so bad that I actually had to leave work at 10 am this morning from the severe headache that I got from sleep deprivation. I came home and slept until 6 pm.

he volunteered to sleep on the couch tonight, but that S U C K S...

any suggestions?

Maybe its time for a new really good mattress??? We got one 2 years ago and WHAT a difference. I have never slept better in my life. Esp. when we first got it!
Its really amazing the difference it made.

Bigger bed? We have a queen right now and know that we eventually want to get a king, but that is going to have to wait until we have a bigger bedroom because there is no room right now! I don't sleep well either

what you need is the mattress that's all the rage now - it's either tempurepedic or posturepedic where no one feels the other move in bed at all. it's pretty amazing. DH didn't like the feel of it so we got a stearns foster instead, but I LOVED it. My problem is not DH tossing and turning but SNORING.

the problem is that he tosses and turns INTO me

I think we need a bigger bed. But, that can't happen until we got a house

you would be surprised i had the same problem he was tossing into me and i couldnt sleep - we got a tempurpedic and he doesnt do it anymore - it was the best solution havent had a problem since we have the bed nearly a year

We used to have the same problem and we used to fight pretty bad with each other in the middle of the night. We started out on a full size bed and then to a queen and now we have a KING. It's the best thing we've ever done. When I first bought the bed, he was so mad at me because it costs so much money, but now he's soooo happy and thanks me for it all the time

being we had NEVER (not even once) slept in the same bed with each other before we were married, this was the hardest adjustment. it took about 3 or 4 months and now it's fine. DH tends to flop like a fish out of water while he sleeps, but he has totally stopped, for the most part!! thank GOD!

I wish we had a KING as well. but maybe when we get a house--we could've fit it in our apt. but then we couldn't have gotten the nightstands. i wanted to upgrade but that means new mattrees, boxspring, frame everything! on our wedding night and on the honeymoon, we were fine because we had the KING bed lol oh well, it's all parta of the newlywed fun!

We had a FULL and I can't tell you how many times I'd wake up with DH's elbow in my face or I'd go to the bathroom and return to him sleeping on an angle taking up my side too. We got a queen a few nights ago and that seems to have done the trick. DH hasn't come into my territory once yet!

I would LOVE to have a tempurpedic. That's our dream bed, but with all the baby furniture we've had to buy lately, we just can't afford it right now. One day....

We have a king and it's too big...I feel like we are sleeping in different states! My DH is a blanket hog..I'm going to get my own blanket.

Just my $.02. We were having a big problem with this. (yes SHE is the one that tosses not me ). We bought a select comfort king and the problem is no more. She can bounce up and down and I do not even know she is there. The bed has two separate chambers (one for each side). Best bed I have ever owned!

I have a DH that not only tosses and turns and snores but ALSO has sleep apnea. It's like living with a newborn. i don't sleep in a restful state for more than an hour at a time. It's usually every 10 minutes or so that I wake up from getting hit, thrashed, all out disturbed ... I feel your pain. I haven't slept since the day I got married.

What about Tylenol PM? Or a glass of wine? maybe you or DH should try that.

Is this something new for him? My DH can be a very restless sleeper but it's always related to something - stress, job, finances, etc.
