They're coming! UPDATE: NO HOTEL

I still won't believe it until they're on the plane, but my SIL and her family (of 5) claim to be coming to visit this weekend.

Doesn't she have a talent for timing - what could she be thinking? - 'lets wait until the week before they leave for NY to pay them a visit. Even though we live in NY and we'll see them there' that makes sense...

And YES, the FIVE of them will be staying in our SMALL one bedroom apt.

Were you or Al afraid to say, now is not a good time With all the packing and lack of space, that alone should be an indication to them to say, maybe not now. Sheesh. I hope you all make it. HOw long are they staying for???

I'd have to say there is no room with all the boxes...that you could help them find a hotel room...


if that doesnt work get one yourself (a last SF hurrah) and make tham feel guilty for kicking you out!!!

They're just staying for the weekend. When she first starting talking about coming it was a few months ago so it was fine as far as the packing went. But it turned out that this was the only weekend that worked for us both.

I'm glad they're coming, I just wish her timing would have been a little better and that they stayed somewhere else.

His family doesn't communicate - they only hear what they want to. I tried to get the concept of a small apartment across but they feel like we'd see so much less of each other in a hotel (and she's cheap). I'd be happy tp put them up if we had any space!

Our neighbor/landlord offered us their spare bedroom. So we may just give up our apt and stay there (its in same house). There's really no way to avoid giving them our bedroom. The parents can sleep in there with the two smaller kids and the 6yr old can have the couch. That leaves us the floor (airmattress) or next door.

We do have a basement, so thats where the few (read TWO) boxes I've packed are.

just speaking from experience...fit as much as you can into your suitcases (take the 4 you are allowed!!!) when you go this month...every little bit helps!!!!

we have an extra room and I was a bit freaked when BIL came with his 2 kids....(everything worked out fine of course)
