I thought I'd start a thread with the theme of keepsaking the stuff MOST people dont.
I really loved my bow bouquet (made from bows from the bridal shower and used at the RD) so I bought a little rose vase for it and display it like a bouquet of flowers:

That is adorable! I wish my bms had thought of that idea - my sister is getting married next yr so maybe i will do that instead of what they did for me. They made a bow-bra with the bows at my shower. It was rather funny - they used two plastic plates as the cups and strung the bows all over them and tied a ribbon as the straps, etc. I was hugely embarassed.

Great idea Sonicstef!!!
I made a bra too for my sister's shower too. I just used 2 paper plates, and tied them together with ribbon, and one to go around the neck. Everyone got a kick out of it

Don't know if this was tacky or not, but ended up using the bows and ribbon off of the hat My shower was at Viva Juans in Huntington, so the ribbons and bows were put on a big sombreo

CarrieAnn- You are not alone - I used the ribbons from my homemade wishing well to decorate my bubbles for the wedding!
back to the post - I have so much cute stuff from the shower and wedding and I am not sure what to do with it!

I saw something cool on Martha Stewart the other morning on what to do with cards you wand to save. She made a book out of them. Take 2 heavy pieces of card stock for the front and back cover. Punch holes in the top left hand corner and insert a gromet (sp?) then you punch holes in each of the cards. You insert a ring clip in the holes, feed the cards on and then the back. now you have a nice rememberance of the wedding.
Im sure she has instructions on her website that are a little better explained than I did!
I think I am going to attempt this!

Think I may actually use the pictures from the cards to decorate the outsdie of an album to hold all my table camera pics.

Claud made me a bow bouquet from my bow hat. I saved my bouquet! but it isn't in a vase right now. I have Christmas stuff out. I do have my floral bouquet dried in a vase.

OMG - I saved absolutely EVERYTHING! My shower bow bouquet, all cards from everyone for every event (engagement, shower, wedding), all my MS Wedding magazines, all response cards, leftover tossing lavender, all extra programs, extra shower invites, extra wedding invites, every single ticket stub or pass or misc. item from the HM, etc. I really don't know what to do with all of it. I am going to make a scrapbook of some of it. I'd love to display my shower bow bouquet but it is SO ugly! Lime green bows mixed with gold, orange, white, etc. - Still want to save it though.

I think your supposed to use the towels in the towel cake..i dont think they expect you to save it as a 'cake' I know a lot of my friends give those at showers and they fully intend for the thing to be dismantled and utilized.

Suzanne - I had the cake too. It was pretty but I felt like it was just time for it to go. I just picked mine apart this weekend. My MIL used pins and velcro - no glue. I stuck all the towels in the laungry bag! PS I made sure I had some picture of it before I too it apart!
