On Friday we buried MIL's ashes we waked her in Ireland but buried her here with her father.
As some of you know my Dad passed away in 2002- and I still have his ashes strange I know. I never buried him because he wanted his ashes actually spread or used to plant a rosebush (this way whenever the roses bloomed we would think of him) I was always kind of on the fence about this as well so hence here I am 6 years later and my poor father is in my closet.
Anyway after we buried MIL I was talking to DH about possibly doing the same for my Dad, this way we would have a place to visit etc. I was actually going to speak to my cousin this weekend about opening our grandparents plot and burying my father with them.
Well- here is the weird part.
My mom asked to borrow my grandmother's silverware for dinner today. As I was searching for it I find this article (clipped out) out of NOWHERE. The article is about a girl with the last name CALLAN and how she was really close to her dad who passed away from liver cancer (as my dad did) and how her dad did not want this ashes buried but scattered!
This could be a a total coincidence but I am totally taking this as a sign.

Re: This is weird-kinda long- but weird
Wow. We can choose to think it a coincidence (my goodness, I have no idea how!) or acknowledge these types of things as a sign from God and our loved ones. I have things like this happen as well (I lost my dad in 04 to brain cancer) and always acknowledge them. Its a blessing in a way! And this is certainly the time of year for hope and faith!
Happy Easter and God bless!!

Definitely weird, but I agree its a sign. I dont think your situation is weird-you do what you have to do in order to grieve properly!!!

That's an amazing story! I don't think it could be a coincidence.

I Love to hear Stories about Signs from Loved Ones.
I Totally Believe in stuff like that. And I feel like our Loved Ones who had Passed are Always with us, watching over us.

it's definitely a sign.....I'm sure it's a hard situation to deal with and handle but I think it might put you at peace to follow your dad's wishes and know he's set free the way he wished to be. But in a way that would make you remember him too (like the rosebushes).

Not weird at all...stories like this give me chills...things often happen and we try to wrap our brain around it, when there really is no way we can...take it as a sign...sorry to hear of both of your loses

I like the idea of spreading them somewhere that was meaningful to him.... and I also love the rosebush idea. that is really sweet

I belive that things all happen for a reason. amybe sometimes we cannot explain them but there will still be a cause and or an effect. with the non living i belive that they stay intouch with the ones day love in their own way. either by sending signs or making 'lost' things appear. It was DEF a sign.

Everything happens for a reason and i would totally take it as a sign. Wierd things happen around Easter Time...I always find it a very spiritual time if you keep your heart and midn open.
Im so glad you got some clarification. Happy belated Easter!

That gave me chills. It is coincidental to not be a sign. I love when things like that happen it lets me know the person is with me.
We planted a bush when my nannie died. Every spring it is the first to bloom and the last to die. It is a nice reminder of nannie and so beautiful.
