But do you have to reregister to vote when you change your name?
Is it weird that I'm already saying 'i'm voting this November' for the first time EVER in a non presidential election? Its so important and its so silly not to!
(stepping off my soapbox!)

Re: This might be a dumb question...
This past november I just used my old licence, and old address, and voted where I always used to.......prolly not the right way to do things. Good question for this coming year!

Re: This might be a dumb question...
totally not a dumb question! I was actually looking into this yesterday (more for address change).
NYS Board of Elections: How do I change my name and address? Complete the Voter Registration Form with the new information, and mail it to your county board of elections. If you are moving to a new county you will have to re-register to vote. Send your voter registration form with the new information to your new county board of elections. You can obtain a Voter Registration Form from your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, on any business day throughout the year. Alternatively, you can download a .pdf version of the Voter Registration Form from our website.
