this was asked on BHB: for teachers

I haven't heard anything from my school district re: changing my name on my teaching certificate. Do we have to do this? I know that I should in case I ever have to/decide to change districts so that my last name jives on all important papers (SS card/license/certificate), but do I have to get this done before the beginning of the year?

I didn't do it- actually I never thought of doing it, but I'm not planning on changing districts so I guess that's why. You have your marriage license to prove your change of name and I'm sure they charge you for that too

I hope I don't have to do this. All of this name-changing business is such a pain.
