Thread Count?

Thread Count?

Have to buy sheets for our queen-size bed.

I want to get comfortable sheets, but I don't want to spend a fortune.

Just wondering what thread count you prefer.

TIA

Re: Thread Count?

I just bit the bullet and bought expensive sheets. Wamsutta 400So FINE. Soooo soft.

Years ago we bougth Wamsutta sateen 500 thread count on sale. They were still pricey but they washed so well. they wrinkled but they lasted us 6 years of washing and wearing every week until the base sheet developed a hole. I finally had to pry top sheet from DH's hands lol. he loved that they got softer with each wash and felt like silk.

We have bought high thread count sheets before but at discounted prices and I have to sy ynot all high thread count sheets are the same..

Finally we decided why pay 30 bucks for sheets that arent as soft ans which we dont love as much as our 60 dollar sheets which we wear into holes in 5 years???

After I took the sheets out of the dryer, I read the tag and it said 100% cotton, which is why they were so wrinkled (I guess).

Would a cotton-blend have been better?

Hmm I don't know. Id have to look at mine tonight and tell you what they are. Cotton DOES wrinkle BUT they break in so much more nicesly than a lower count sheet. Besides if you have a duvet or comforter does anyone see the sheets? I wouldnt worry about it.
