Hello hello! Hope you have been enjoying my asking you all sorts of fun stuff about life with DH!

Today's question is much more casual and comes from an idea I got from a NWR BHB thread I think from last week...


What is your favorite type of music? Is it similar/different than DH's? Has it changed since you met your DH?

What's your favorite song(s) on the radio right now? Do you have different songs you like to listen to when you're driving / working out / cooking?


I've got a big day today (need 'luck' vibes... I'll tell you all about it after), but I'll be back to answer myself a bit later. Can't wait to hear all the suggestions so I can use my itunes gift cards and get some new tunes!

I pretty much enjoy all different kids of music...
its werid cuz i was always a pop kinda girl!
i got into a phase with really liking hip hop/ rap music
and when i met DH he was into rap music...
i still always liked pop music...
then some how, DH's started listening to country music (his brother i think got him into it) and i started really really listening to country!

at the moment i love everything!! country music is soo awesome! DH and i have been to a million country music concerts!

DH now is actually starting to get into pop music! lol its funny cuz he is obsessed with miley cyrus party in the usa!! haha he will kill me if i told you guys this!

so basically we like everything!!

my fav song at the moment right now is rihanna-hard!

i basically listen to anything and everything: on my ipod you would find owl city (fireflies) to ray charles to Bach to crappy club music that i jog to :o) lol... but my favorite music is performed by oasis, radiohead, tori amos and all sort of various rock/indie bands.

what's so funny is that DH doesn't obsess over music like i do. so i'm definitely the music fanatic. weird DH-factoid...he jogs to audiobooks on his ipod... HOW someone does that i'll never know!!

anyway, not much has changed for me music-wise... DH definitely listens to more now that he's met me!! :o) i'm slowly breaking him into my music and for the most part, he's a fan :o)

This is a very loaded question for me. DH has accused me in past of being a music snob. What can I say, he's right!

I have a very large background in music performance and it is a huge part of my life, so when I hear 'music' that is 'popular' these days I tend to hate it. I tend to like songwriters and solo artists - Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds, Fiona Apple, etc. Mostly stuff I like is never on the radio.

I hate DH's taste in music. He likes more whiny emo pop stuff - Jimmy Eat World, etc. I've learned to stop complaining because he gets upset when I start being snobby ...

Listen to just about everything... I can say that honestly... Love Love LOve spanish music....

DH listens to hip hop/ R&B, freestyle, some oldies and soft rock. But hes good about listening to whatever when we are together...

We enjoy music and it was a fun thing to do for the wedding 2...

We both really listen to everything. My music tastes are so broad it's ridiculous. I'll be at the gym listening to 50 cent while I'm on the treadmill and then Weezer in the car on the ride home.

I'm trying to think of my favorite song right now...I'll have to get back to you on that one.

And while we're on the topic of music, has anyone heard the Scarlet Johansen song with Pete Yorn? It's really cute!

I'm a dance teacher so I listen to ALL types of music classical, jazz, r&b, rap, pop, rock, easy listening, country, everything.

DH is a pop and rock guy.



My fav song on the radio right now would have to be either Bad Romance by Lady Gaga or they don't really play her on the radio but anything by LILY ALLEN

DH and I have similar music tastes and we like all genres of music. I am more of a classic rock/alternative rock girl and he is more of an R&B/Easy Listening/Jazz guy.

We usually put on the music channels on the TV while we are cleaning or hanging out with friends and the station that has been on the most these past few months is the 90's station. It brings us back to when we first met in HS and takes us through those years.

My all time favorite band is The Beatles. I actually started to tear up this past summer when I was at the Paul McCartney concert and he sang Beatles songs.

Once of my fav songs on the radio right now is What Do You Want From Me by Adam Lambert.

ETA: When I am working out I listen to anything from Jay Z to NIN. My mp3 player has a wide variety of music on it.

We definitely have similar tastes me and DH...we both predominantly like rock. The main difference is that when I'm driving I'll listen to Z100 and 94.3 and BLI and those kinda pop stations too, but only in the car, and it's more for background noise than enjoyment. We both like Billy Joel, but he's probably a more hardcore fan, and I love 80's/90's hair bands and classic rock and 90's alternative/college rock whereas the only real modern music he likes is DMB and the Chilli Peppers and Modest Mouse.

I don't really have a favorite song right now. I think I'm pretty well rounded though, a little moreso than DH.

Me and DH like alot of the same music which is pretty much everything except I HATE freestyle I cant even listen to it I would rather listen to nails on a chalk board ( sorry you freestyle lovers) but my DH loves it and if a song comes on he'll start singing it to me I just cant! I love country and spanish and he doesnt like either. Other then that we like it all.

I like all kinds of music! The only kind I dont like is country! My favs are 80's , 90's , and freestyle!!

Dh is a huge music person. He'll listen to pretty much anything.

I had an interview with a huge law firm today down here but I've been really sick the past week and my voice is at about 60%.

I think it went well... I'm just so torn because I don't want to work as much as I used to now -- I'm hoping they offer me a PT job lol. But we'll see!

Thanks for thinking of me! I was really nervous but tried to channel it into excitement and enthusiasm.

our music taste is like a venn diagram (teacher joke, lol) we have the music i like seperately (rap, pop, reggaeton, motown, club), the music DH likes seperately (death metal, his fave band right now is lamb of god...i hate this music) and the music we like together (classic rock, oldies, some pop...major artists: the beatles, simon and garfunkle, billy joel, 80s...dave matthews)

my FAVE FAVE song right now is sexy chick by david guetta...OMG i dance in my car like a maniac when that song comes on! lol
