TILDE has inspired this post....

1. we get 'unlimited' sick days but basically this means they cannot be abused and if you need to be out more than 3 consecutive days, or if your supervisor feels you are abusing the policy, you need to provide a doctor's note.

we also get 3 personal days a year, 22 vacation days and major holidays off (plus 2 weeks off for christmas break)

2. i call in sick when i'm sick i try not to do it too often, but unfortunately i do have about the worst immune system in the world so if somebody sneezes near me, i end up sick!

3. usually i'll call in if i have a cold or sinus infection or any sort of stomach thing.

I love my benefit time

I get 12 sick days a year. They can be used for basically anything even dr. appointments scheduled in advance and I love that!
I also get 5 personal, 3 floating holidays and 4 weeks vacation plus 13 regular holidays a year.
Benefits are probably the best I have ever had plus I don’t have to pay for medical insurance


ETA because apparently I didn’t read.. I call out once every two months usually and sometimes once a month. We are encouraged to use our time.

-bad headache (to the point where your head is sensitive and you can't look at the light)
-really sore throat and/or can't breathe out my nose
-stomach virus

I work in an office. I get 6 sick days, 2 personal and 10 vacation. Not the greatest, but it'll do I guess. I just ****** last year because I had surgery in May, and used up all my sick time then, and then couldn't take another day off till my wedding in October!

I do get 20 vacation days too - I can carry over 30

this year i can take off the entire month of december and still carry over my 30

1) we get a certain amount of hours for sick and vacation time every paycheck.

2) I don't call out often, unless something is wrong with my car, or if something comes up last minute. I would rather use sick days than vacation days.

3) I don't like taking time off b/c this is a new job, and it's a really great job, so now in order for me to stay home I really have to be sick. No hookey and no 'i have cramps wahh' lol I do however, wish I could take off the friday before MLK day, so I can have a 4 day weekend. I feel bad asking though b/c I just took 2 weeks off for the wedding and HM!

i JUST put in for that tuesday & wednesday off so i will have a 5 day vaca hopefully it will be approved!

1) 3 sick/personal days (didn't realize how crappy that was until seeing what some others get...)

2) call in sick 1 or 2 times per year (I can use any remaining days as extra vacation, but I lose anything left at end of year, including vacation)

3) I have to be throwing up, fever, or migraine to the point of not being able to see straight to call in sick

PMSing cramps, back ache, headache.(but of course I dont say that)

well we get 3.75 hours every paycheck and as long as your under 300 hours they carry over for the year. I have 78 right now.

we also get 3.75 hrs of vacation and I have 170 right not, as well as 5 personal, 3 floater holidays and probably about 7 holidays or something like that.

2. how often do you call in sick:
out of my 3 years here at least 1 a month. but only for the last year did i get vacation/sick time and i actually have only called in sick 1 time this whole year.

However, I use my sick time for when I leave early for dr appts or when i have to observe at a school for my classes. I wont get paid for my sick time once I leave so I like to use that more than vacation.

Back in the day it was if I had a few too many
cocktails if I went out for a Sunday Funday or Thursday night volleyball, or my migraines I would call in or if i had to do something!!!

2 - about how often do you call in sick - i usually use around 6 out of the 10 days...although this year i havent taken any yet, and im hoping not to this year and save my days so i can have some extra time when i need it for maternity (whenever that is lol)

3 - what needs to be wrong with you do call in sick?i teach in an elementary school in brooklyn..some of those days are mental health days other days ive lost my voice, or had bronchitis, strep, ect.. i get everything from the kids
