tipping during the holiday season

do you tip your hairdresser a little more than usual? or even give them a gift?
same applies to woman who have a facialist, and have been going to them for quite some while.....

do u get them a card n put $ inside, or just tip extra, or actually get them a lil something...

not sure what to do!

I tipped more than usual. I did not get a card or a gift. I think it depends how long you have been going to them and how friendly you are to each other. I used to go to the same nail salon for years and I would give my manicurist a card with money. I gave my trainer a card with money this year.

ohh glad you posted this- I didnt even think of that & I have a cut & color appointment tomorrow- I will give her a little extra- I usually tip her $20 (cut & color is $85)- but will probably give her an extra $10- is that enough?

I think that is enough. you already tip over 20% to begin with so a $30 tip on $85 is nice IMO.

I usually give my manicurist and my hair stylist a holiday card with $50 in it. These are the two people that I see on a regular basis.
The receptionist at the salon I go to gets a box of chocolates for the holidays. Got to be very nice to the person that books appointments, especially at a very busy salon.

I give my nail girl a big fat tip. She appreciates the money more than anything else.

I gave a little more $$ at my nail salon than usual. I don't always get the same manicurist so I wasn't sure what to do . My hairdresser I didn't see for the holiday season but I always tip her over 20% when I do (about 4 times a year). I know i should go more often than that....lol
