to preserve or not preserve

part of me wants to preserve my dress. The other part of me wants to be able to wear it whenever I want to around the house.

what happens if I do not preserve my dress?

What did you decide to do?

It will turn yellow and deteriorate over time if you don't preserve it.

My MIL left hers hanging in her closet for 30 years and now it is yellow and falling apart.

I would preserve it

Do you think I could wait a few years, until I finaly get over the fact that the only day that I have been planning since I was like 5, is over?

you can wait a few years- it may not be perfect but the chances of a daughter using are few

my cousin has had hers hangin gin the closest for over 10 years- it still looks fine

I am not preserving mine. When the time comes my mom is going to use the material for a bassinet for my baby. She did the same thing with hers and i think it is such a great idea. Till that time it will hang in my closet and i will take it out every once in awhile to try on.

That's what I'm doing as well but to prevent the fabric from yellowing I had it cleaned and preserved.

I preserved mine but it was free with the Tux place we used. I have this huge box I dont know what to do with.

Aw that is so sad! Well there is always going to the bridal stores and trying on dresses!

I am preserving mine soon (I've already tried it on again a few times) so I can use it for a Christening outfit someday. If you have a plan to use it maybe you won't be that sad about preserving it.
