Top Chef: Casey throws Carla under the bus!

Carla was not prepared and in over her head. The show did not talk about how the first course (crab) took her half of the friggin’ cooking time that day, I was left to work the rest of HER dishes.
She also did not have a plan. The ONLY thing she had in mind was a cheese course! I would NEVER do a cheese course. And where in the hell did french come from!? She is not even classically trained! It (the show) didn’t talk about how I worked on a sauce for 2 days and Carla forgot to put it on the plate… It didn’t show how the 2nd course (fish) was MINE. It didn’t show how she took the sous vide idea and decided to GRILL it last minute causing it to be tough… And it didn’t show how she WANTED to do the souffles which she does not even know how to make! That was HER food, because it certainly was me asking her how she wanted to do this and that while she was busy picking crab the entire time and making a souffle that didn’t rise!
I am done with TC. I did not influence her. She has NO ideas of her own, oh, except a cheese course.

I don't get why she is talking sh*t when the only things that went wrong with Carla's dishes were the 2 things Casey suggested. She is the one who brought up the sous-vide idea, carla never did that so obviously it was all Casey. And carla said she wanted to do the cheese tarts but Casey told her to make a soufle. She is just upset bc she realizes she came out looking like an idiot bc the only complaints were casey's ideas. So what if it took Carla long to make the crab bc everybody LOVED it. And who is Casey to talk, she is the biggest hypocrite bc she talks about carla saying she is not classically trained. I watched Casey's season and Casey had NO training at all. She was one of the few who never went to culinary school and is she an idiot bc Carla is a trained chef so that statement made no sense. I have no idea how casey won fan favorite for her season bc she was a stuck up biotch the whole show. This is all coming from a woman who put red hot sauce in ice cream.

If Carla is that terrible of a chef AND had no ideas of her own - how did she get into the finals? It seems to me that Casey is trying to deflect from her horrendous performance!! Sour grapes...

I'm sure it was just nerves and pressure but Carla (who I love right after Fabio) could have stood her ground and said 'you are the sous chef, you've had your turn at TC, thank you for our input but back off I am making what I am making!!!'

OMG! I just watched it last night. i was sooo annoyed that josea won, and totally annoyed at Casey - but also at Carla for listening but in the end i felt bad for Carla. I also decided to love stephan b/c he was so nice to Carla when she cried. What a biaatch casey is - those were ALL her ideas. I never liked her... and yeah she does look like jen.

what makes me laugh is that on season 3 when casey was on, she used to make comments about Hung bc he always used the sous-vide technique and make fun of him for it and she had NEVER done it then on the show. And now she comes on the show talking about how great it is, makes her look so stupid.

And I read Gail's blog on bravo about the winner and now its even more obvious they did NOT want Stefan to win, also read Toby's and he defended Stefan and said he fought for him but he was outvoted and he spoke about how they decided on the winner and Tom just didnt want Stefan to win by the way it sounds.

Gail and Tom both said that the way they decided was that Hosea did 2 good dishes, the veal and his appetizer. And Stefan did 1 which was the squab and that was Gail's defense, but when it came to Stefan she only mentioned the 3 dishes he made and not appetizer but Hosea they included his appetizer. Which Toby said that and said they loved Stefan's alligator soup(which he should get extra points for i think) so he even said to Tom, wouldn't that make it 2-2 and that would mean its a tie and if so the rules of the show say that if its a tie thats when you have to start judging by their past performances on the show which would mean Stefan would win. Tom's answer was no we dont need to do it as a tie bc judging by their best dish each the squab vs the venison, hosea's was much better. Hmmm didn't tom say the squab was the best thing he had while eating it and they said they wouldnt give it to stefan bc of the dessert. They said it tasted good but didnt look great. Didnt stephanie win top chef with a dessert they didnt even like and said was horrible tasting. They said Stefan's dessert was too wedding hall type looking

So annoyed about this bc obviously it was a tie, 2 good dishes each, but for some reason they didnt even put stefans alligator soup towards the count. Why would they want to put their top chef name on a chef that didnt do well throughout most of the competition ugh

i toooooottttallllly agree with this! just had the SAME conversation with my co-worker over lunch. I didn't love stefan's arrogance (i wanted fabio to win) but once it was obvious that carla was out I thought stefan should win and I couldn't believe they put so much weight on the final competition. and the alligator soup should have definitely gotten extra points; also on every season they make a big deal about how hard dessert is and how it takes real guts to do one etc. so why didn't he get props for that?? because it was so '1982'? just *****. I ended up liking him better b/c of how nice he was to carla when she was crying. I thought she was kind of an idiot for letting casey dictate so much of what they should make. but Hosea? ugh.
