TORNADO

just an FYI - for those of you who wished ill on NJ before...thanks!

Edison is where I work and New Brunswick is a 10 minute car ride!

TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOUNT HOLLY NJ 409 PM EDT WED JUL 23 2008
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR... NORTHERN MIDDLESEX COUNTY IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY... EAST CENTRAL SOMERSET COUNTY IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY...

* UNTIL 445 PM EDT

* AT 407 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO NEAR NORTH BRUNSWICK... MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

* THE TORNADO WILL BE NEAR... SOMERSET BY 415 PM... NEW BRUNSWICK BY 420 PM... SOCIETY HILL BY 425 PM... EDISON BY 430 PM...

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES... EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. IF NO SHELTER IS AVAILABLE...LIE FLAT IN THE NEAREST DITCH OR OTHER LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

No wonder New yorkers so depressed....the light at the end of the tunnel is New Jersey.

Seriously though I hope everyone is okay and the tornado never happens!!!

it has been getting uglier and uglier and now the thunder is REALLY creepy...and CONSTANT!

i hear you i am from nj too but not that part and we just got issued the same warning, the rain and wind are some bad right now and about 30 minutes ago it looked light a lightening bolt was headed for the office building across the street.

i hope i can get home b4 this gets any worse

it seems to have passed - or is passing now. the rain was INTENSE for maybe 15 minutes or so - so was the lightning.....

It's getting to be a brighter shade of gray at the moment...but the thunder is still there!
