TOTALLY random question for us ladies who are on here at work

I work at an insurance company for the state- it is workers compensation insurance which have offices located all over the state of NY. Thankfully only a job while I am in school

Anyway...I have a cubicle but our computers face outwards so whoever walks by can peek at your screen. There are about 6 people in my little section of cubicles. 3 cubicles on each side of a little walk way (right next to the windows) But we have a big office (2 floors and about 1300 people just for the suffolk and nassau district)

My district manager who is also my supervisor is really cool though and has caught me on the internet before but doesn't say anything. I think it might have to be with the fact that my uncle got me this job 3 yrs ago and he is right under the CEO. But I like to think my boss really does like me because he is always friendly with me and well tells me how I am doing a good job etc. The 2 women and the 1 guy who work next to me who I am close with enjoy that I am on the interet alot since they get to experience fun things that I find or read

my floor is just for the legal and compliance departments. there are offices all around the perimeter, then there are high and low cubes on the inner part. i'm in a section of 6 cubes, and i'm in the front left one. it has glass in front, but there are legal binders in front of me, so one can really see me. luckily i have a high cube. i could have switched to a back private cube, but i was just too lazy too. we also have 2 flat panel monitors, so we work consistently off of both monitors. my eyes love it.

we all have high cubes here too which is awesome - when we moved offices we were so worried about privacy but our cubicles are more like mini offices so it wasn't that bad transitioning over to the cubes

I work in an office of about 10 people, and most of us have cubicles but they are weird cubicles. Like my cube really only has 2 high walls. The other 2 sides are these like 1/4 walls, so it's pretty open. My direct supervisor sits behind me, so whenever I hear him getting up from his desk, I minimize Or, if I hear my main supervisor or the owner of the company coming, I minimize. I am pretty sure they have seen me on here or FB at various times, though. They are pretty laid back here. I have worked here nearly a year and a half and nothing has been said *knocks wood*

I work 8:30-5:30 with an hour lunch that I can take whenever I want.

Kim what do you do? Are you a receptionist for the club house?? That is pretty cool and I love your hours!!!

No, I answer the phones for now because we are hardly filled up LOL,,hopefully after next year we will have a full time receptionist too. I am the assistant property manager. I deal with Homeowners after they have moved into their newly built house.

Most of the year I work from home, which is where i am now. I have a little office in our living room. Starting on Monday I start traveling back into the city everyday, but only for about four weeks. Then I go back to working from home again.

I work for a TV show and do all of the pre-production from home, and then go into the city to tape a lot of shows in just four weeks.

I had high cubicles at my old job but was nowhere near a window and I hated that!

Sure, its The Challenge (academic show for HS students) and airs on News 12. There are five different News 12's in the tri state area, so we do the show for each region with five different hosts. I also freelance throughout the year for other productions and live events.

I'm on the 8th floor of our building and we take up the entire floor. We're right on the corner of 5th and 44th and I'm seated near the 5th Ave windows. My office is very open. We all have cubicles (even the top bosses) that are in pods. We are separated by departments (marketing, sales, production, operations, customer service, etc.). My team was dismembered back in October and now there are two of us that work under the second in command. We are now sitting in a pod with another division of our company. We have no privacy because it is wide open. I have to minimize my screen to come on here and even then I hover over my screen with hopes that no one can see. Well the guy next to me can, but he's looking for house all day

It is!! Just can be extremely boring because we are only 25% full so far, after 2 years (economy). So that's why I can spend my days with you all!!

oh very nice Kim!! That sounds like a nice atmosphere to work in though. I would love love a fire place near my desk haha. I am always cold.

I sit in a cubical across from offices of the bankers at a finance company. They usually shut their doors.

i used to have my own office at my old job, but it was harder to be on here then cus my boss would sneak in and stand behind me. it was weird.

The questions are really hard, but some of these kids are ridiculously smart! It's nice to see them get the recognition from their classmates, since its usually the jocks that get all of the attention, kwim?

Oh yeah, if I stand up and look over my cubicle wall I get to look at the Jamaica LIRR!
