TOTALLY random question for us ladies who are on here at work

soooo i may be wierd.. but i totally try to picture you laides at your desk typing away on here whenever i see a response lol

i thought we could share what kind of working environment we all work in so for ppl like me, its easier to form a picture of who is on the other side of the computer lolol

i'll go first.... i share an office with my co-worker on the first floor of a day treatment center.... so i can close the door if i wanted to.... my boss is on the 2nd floor so i rarely see her throughout the day... usually its just in passing unless we have a meeting

shes actually on vacation this week - along with my co-worker that i share an office with so im totally alone!!

I work at an office of 300- but we are all separated into smaller departments- my department (marketing) shares a room with our public information group- there are about 30 of us total- I have a cubicle with a window but its behind me so I dont get to look out of it much

I work at an office with just my boss who is about 15 feet from me at her desk. We have our office inside a club house of a gated community. The club house is georgeous and has a a big L shaped desk for me, and there is a fire place right out side my door , so those cold days, that is where you will find me, if no residence are in the building!

I work mon-fri 7a-3p and she works tues-sat 9a-5p, so we are together basically face to face tues-fri 9-3p. She knows all about you girls and this site. I take lunch at 1130a except for Mondays, because I stay all day, (I work alone that day).

It is!! Just can be extremely boring because we are only 25% full so far, after 2 years (economy). So that's why I can spend my days with you all!!

Kim, tha'ts so funny...b/c I got the impression you worked 7-3pm based on your posts in the morning and I also figured you worked alone on Mondays b/c it's usually Movie Monday ! I'm soo jealous....I sit in a cubicle where my screen faces out for all to see...if my boss is sitting at her desk, she can see exactly what i'm doing.

Okay well NORMALLY I am in a cubicle. It opens up right into another cubicle across a hallway and I have a nosy neighbor who will always comment on what is on my screen. My manager and assistant managers walk through but I know their footsteps by now so I can switch back to what I am doing. I work from a dual monitor so I try to come on here on one and keep up work on the other LOL

BUT for the past month I have been mentoring trainees so I am in a classroom setting. I sit in the front row and I only have one monitor. There are trainees behind me who probably think I do nothing all day LOL

i got the impression you started work @ 7 also!! you are always the earliest poster for the day!! hha

my work schedule can vary.... mon & tues i work 830-430.... the rest of the week i do 8-4....sometimes i like to try and get in the office at like 730 so i can leave at 330 (esp fridays!)

but i go out into the field everyday at 230 so thats why im never on after 230... fridays are my busiest days b/c i see a couple of clients for individual therapy in the morning and i run a group in the afternoon

I work in a small office (about 10 ppl). All of them except me are brokers, which means they are hardly here .

My boss knows nothing about computers so I just minimize all the bad things i'm doing and he has no clue.

They don't check internet usage either

ETA: My desk is the first thing ppl see when they come in the office, so I see who comes in. I can also here when somoene is walking towards me.. I've learned to listen to the footsteps so I know when to minimize

i've heard rumours that HR checks out internet usage.. however i've been on FB and LIW everyday since i started here 8 months ago and i never heard anything about it lol

i work on the 17th floor of an office building - i'm in a cubicle that is kind of in a corner which is good b/c i have some sort of privacy.....i am in the corporate office so there are quite a few of us - seperated by department and we all work with the ceo and vp's on a daily basis....

I work in a school in the records department. I am all alone!! I have no windows and I am surronded by boxes on shelves!! LOL! But at least no one is bothering me!

My company is a distribution warehouse. When you come in there are two doors -the one on the left leads to the counter where our customers come to place their orders and next to that is the warehouse. The door to the right leads to the offices. My office is the last on the office side so and my desk faces my door. I can see anyone that is coming in (which I have the good printer so everyone is always in and out of my office). I do so much that everyone just assumes that all my typing is for whatever project i am working on. When people come in depending who it is I just flip and work on the work screen rather then the internet site that I am on . I always keep my homepage to some financial website so if I happen to leave it up whomever is peeking will just get bored. No one really bothers me which is great. I work 8-5.

Kim what do you do? Are you a receptionist for the club house?? That is pretty cool and I love your hours!!!

I work in a small insurance office. It a small building with just us inside. I am the only employee beside the bosses which are 3 brothers.


I sit up front in the office and my boss have desks behind me, they are usually to busy to see or notice what i am doing on the computer
