Trip to Acapulco

Planning our 1 year Anniversary vacation in May to Aculpulco. One of my BM gave me their timeshare to the Mayan Palace.

Has anyone been there? Any nice places to go? Places to see. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Trip to Aculpulco

I've been to the Mayan Palace in Acapulco like 4 times!

IT IS one of my FAVORITE PLACES ON EARTH!

The Mayan Palace is truly breathtaking....it has such an awesome pool, like one of the longest pools in North America or something.

Here are some restaurants that you MUST TRY!

El Olvido, truly magnificent, right on the water!

Re: Trip to Aculpulco

Then there's Casanova's or Restaurant Casanova, it's Italian.

When you go up to the restaurant, all you see is this small glass structure...you go inside and look down, and there are spiral stairs that go down into a cliff and you are eating in a restaurant that is like carved out of a cliffside (or something like that)...all I remember was that the ambiance and atmosphere were fantastic!

Another MUST GO restaurant is Madeiras!
The view and food are amazing as well!

Re: Trip to Aculpulco

The nightlife in Acapulco is Ledgendary!

The local taxi drivers will tell you which club is the 'happening' club for that day of the week!

There was this one disco that we went to that was on top of a cliffside, and when everyone is dancing and working up a sweat, all of a sudden this white gas is released from the ceiling onto the dance floor...the case immediately cools you and takes away all the sweat, and you are ready to keep on going!

The clubs stay open way until sunrise.

It's such a wonderful place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I want to go again!

FM me if you'd like any other info!

The Mayan Palace is the only place I'd stay at!
Whenever I went, I would say that I was a honeymooner, and they'd give us a suite with jacuzzi tub, etc....everytime I'd say, 'I just got married!'

Re: Trip to Acapulco

Ladies - I am so EXCITED right now. Thanks Kathy what great pictures! I can't wait to go, we are getting a Suite - I looked on their website and the place looks boom banging!!

Here is their website:

MAYAN PALACE ACAPULCO

I agree, the airfare is so high about $1,200 for the both of us. I am trying to wait. What sucks is that there is no direct flight out of NY. I am going to go with either Continental or American Airlines.

Those restuarants look amazing! Do I need to make a reservation for them?

Re: Trip to Acapulco

We would call around 4:30 the day of to reserve for say 8:30 or 9:00 dinner.

Try to avoid going in summer, the heat is brutal... I remember going to dinner at night, and the moment I left the hotel room, my makeup was just melting off my face...this is at NIGHT!

I think that was August....try to avoid that time of year if possible. If not, you'll still have funl
