True Blood on HBO

Has anyone watched this new show. DH and I so far watched the first and second episodes and its really cool. I was a huge dorky Buffy fan so Im still looking for a vampire show to fill my Buffy void! This one is amazing.

I can totally see why you dont fall for the fantasy part! They definitely took his story and twisted it thats for sure. I feel like the fictional vampires were made to be creatures that stood for lust, addiction, gluttony, etc. Basically the 7 deadly sins. I wonder what geared the story that way.

Also as far as women being attracted to them in some way, look at the way theyre portrayed on TV. None of them are really overweight balding men. Theyre usually in perfect shape with glowing eyes. I mean seriously, was Brad Pitt not the most gorgeous vampire in the world?!!!

Its funny bc Dh doesn't like pale girls so i say im surprised he likes vampires, he did stop for a sec and think 'oh yeah so true' but then he got over it quickly.

The glowing eyes is cool.

and every woman likes the whole bad boy mysterious thing hahaha

Exactly!! its the bad boy factor!!! So what if they will seduce you and tear out your jugular, theyre HOT

we watched the first episode. I had to work last night so he dvr'd it for me. we are both obsessed with vampire shows; buffy and angel were the best and he just made me watch that crazy scary vampire movie.... what the heck was it?? 30 days of night? I think so.

anyway dh was going to cancel HBO and now he's second guessing just because of true blood.

well, I liked the end also because it was totally different. You always just assume it's going to end this way, and it ended THAT way. it WAS really good. I'm just getting more chicken in my old age and unfortunately I now get bad dreams whenever i watch anything scary. the other night we watched the sarah connor chronicles and supernatural back to back and I dreamed I was being chased by a hellhound who could morph into liquid metal and change shapes.

i know i woke up and told dh the dream and he started laughing and was like i like how you got a little bit of both shows in there! they are dumb dreams but at the time so scary. It doesn't stop me either; i freaking LOVE Supernatural and I'm trying to get back into sarah connor chronicles b/c i love all things terminator. I'm hoping to watch true blood tonight, so i wonder what kind of stupid dream I'll have tonight.

i get that sometimes - what i get though are called night terrors. i don't get them enough to be medicated - but, maybe once, twice a year, i'll sit up at like 5:00 AM and just start SCREAMING - like i'm being stabbed. Dave gets really freaked out - but it's best not to touch me - to try and talk me down...

I've spoken to the doctor about it and he said if i ever go to bed and i'm feeling anxious/nervous - to take a benadryl or something like that. By taking that - you go right into the stage of sleep that's dreamless (you only dream at the beginning of sleep)...

Needless to say - when we watch something freaky, i take a sleeping pill now. It does help!
