Ugh
My grandmother passed away last night. She fought a quick battle with lung cancer--it was in remission for seven or eight years before it resurfaced in mid-October. It was discovered 'accidentally' after she suffered from a fall in front of my aunt's house in November. The fall rendered her unable to receive chemo for it.
I got to see her last night before she passed, after busting out the door at 2:45 pm from school. She looked ready, but she sounded like she was in pain during her final hours. Grandma passed three hours after I left the hospice last night--she missed Conan's last NBC episode by 45 minutes!!!!
I'm doing ehh. I just got asked to do a reading at the mass on Wednesday, and I'm scared to death of starting to bawl in the middle of it. I don't know what I'm reading yet. And the sad/bittersweet thing is. . .we're closing on our house on Wednesday and we can't cancel that. Grandma would have wanted us to close on Wednesday no matter what.
I'm going to try to bump the post I put on here a few weeks ago about her since there's a beautiful picture of her walking down the aisle at my wedding.
