UGHHHHH Another UTI

I know they say most are repeat offenders ...

Woke up at 5am with that tinge, that urgency ... peed and it was confirmed - so I took more of those OTC meds that turn your pee orange ... and I just went now, and there was a little blood

Of course I still don't have insurance - I was turned down by Healthy NY bc Dh makes too much on the books ... he's mostly off but what is on, combined with my unemployment, is $300 too much per month - like that means I can afford $500-900 a month on regular insurance???

I am calling the govt today re: the subsidy for cobra - hopefully I can get it today and go to a doc. My mom has a sulfa prescription she is going to try to get transferred to a CVS near me so I don't have to drive to Wantagh in the snow to pick it up.

THIS JUST STINKKKKKKKS. '

And yes I pee after sex. The two times I have gotten one of these damn things I waited maybe 10 mins before peeing. UGHHH.

oh honey i am sorry....

can you go to a CVS minute clinic or some other clinic at least to get some treatment now while you work on the insurance situation?????

If I cannot get insurance today, I will do that. And I should be able to get my mom's prescription transferred to a CVS near me.

If the COBRA isn't possible for whatever reason, I will get a discount insurance plan called Cinergy that I read about.... they cover 100% of your first 5 doctors visits a year up to $100 and then you pay the remainder -- better than nothing ...

ooo I am so sorry I know that horrible feeling a little to well, if you are peeing blood, you definitely need a prescription, like the PP said I would try the minute clinic at CVS, or go to Walgreen they have something similar to the minute clinic

I feel your pain - UTIs are horrible. I found that taking cranberry pills and drinking cranberry juice daily helped to prevent them. It keeps things acidic in your bladder which prevents infections. Drinking plenty of water works as well - it flushes out your system.

UGH, really???? DAMN. That was my only option if Cobra is still too expensive, etc. I'll look into it though, thanks.

ughhh thats awful sorry you are going through this! I get them on and off too- something that helps is that uristat (i think its uristat) makes a cranberry vitamin for urinary health- they havent been as frequent since I started this

eta- i also keep my microbid filled at all times & under the sink and travel with it too- my urologist suggested this and more than once its saved the day

Ugh terrible!

Worse case scenario you should go to a walk in clinic and tell them you dont have insurance.

I did this once when I had strept throat. My total bill was $75 for visit and throat culture and they had the medicine there (samples) and gave it to me for free!
