UPDATE: I Hate CitiBank Right Now

DH's old account was CitiBank. Well, it's not really old I guess because it's still open, but we are in the process of moving his direct deposit over to my bank now. This morning he goes to take out money and it says insifficient funds. We call CitiBank and all they can tell us is there's a $1600 debit on the account but they won't know where it's from until tomorrow! TOMORROW?!? DH doesn't write checks and he doesn't make large purchases so we think someone got his account number. And all CitiBank said was 'Sorry for the inconvenience. Call back tomorrow and if there's a discrepancy you can file a dispute.' ***!!!!!!

UPDATE:
DH finally got someone that was able to tell him what the problem was. Ready for this? They made an error! A $1600 error! They blamed it on system updates. Dumba$$es!!!!

I had something like that happen to me at northfork bank several years ago.

They registered every withdrawl for the month, but didn't register any deposits my creditcard payments all bounced
At first, they even charged me for the bounced checks! I had to dig around and look for proof of every deposit before they admitted it was their fault. I made them write letters accepting blame to my credit card companies.... this whole thing took a couple MONTHS.

needless to say, I closed my account

See.. this is precisely why I only deal with Credit Unions.. Granted I work for one, but they just care more about their members than a bank does.. Sorry CitiBank is retarded!!!

Dh and I have Bank Of America now. I used to have Citibank and hated them they never did anything right. DH had North Fork and they always screwed up his deposits. Bank of America seems great so far since we had them.

We belong to a credit union and a bank. I can telly ou this....NEVER have I had a discrepency with our CU, but with our bank,( Chase ) unbelievable mishaps. Sometimes I literally go there to raise hell. The same as when I get a statement and it's blatently WRONG!!!
