I cannot even believe I have been dealing with all of this since OCTOBER ... its been almost 5 months.

And to top it off, now the pain has moved from my left side to my right side (making it nearly impossible to do anything) ... today has been one of the worst days I have had in a long long time The pain has brought me to tears a few times today, the ant-inflammatories I'm on aren't doing anything to help.

Next steps will probably either be cortisone shots or surgery ... and I'm nervous about going either direction. I will find out more when I speak to the doctor.

I'm just so frustrated and want to go back to living a normal life, and be able to enjoy newlywed bliss.

My appointment is early tomorrow morning ... and it would help to know I'm in your thoughts

UPDATE #1:
My appointment was supposed to be at 8:50. I got a call at 7:15 this morning that my Doctor has the FLU and wouldn't be in today ... so we rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

A few hours later, I got a call from his office again ... saying that he got worse, and won't be in tomorrow. He's not in on Friday ... so now I have to wait until Monday afternoon to see him

And I was only able to get that appointment because they extended his Monday hours ... when I told them that I'm in a lot of pain & need to see him as soon as possible.

I have no clue how I'm gonna get through the rest of the week & the weekend

UPDATE #2:
They were able to call in a prescription to get me through the weekend. Definitely helped to take the edge off for now. I will update again after I see the doctor on Monday ...

I am so sorry you are so much pain. I cannot even imagine how awful it is. I had a stiff neck and a bad back for 2 days and it was awful so this must be about 1000 times worse. I hope those doctors think of something to help you and fast.

Sorry, I wrote the post without posting all the past details .... I have a herniated disc and a bulging disc in my neck (cervical spine) ... it started about a month before the wedding.

I've been to many different doctors for acupressure, acupunture, chiropractor adjustments, orthopedists, and physical therapy.

I am now seeing a neuorologist who had put me on oral steroids which helped a bit ... but now that seems to have worn off or something.


Im sorry to hear this. Pls let us know how the appt goes!

I really feel for you! I just found out that the pain in my back and down my leg is due to a disc bulging out and to the left in my lower spine, pressing on a nerve. My neurologist has been great so far (well, minus all the EMG's! yikes ) and he put me on oral steroids too. I have a followup next week so we'll see if it works for me or not. I have other stuff too going on, so I really understand what it's like to go through what you're going through - just that you definitely are facing it worse than me. I pray you'll start to feel better soon!

Wasn't the EMG just the absolute worst form of torture ever? I actually CRIED in the doctors office during the last part! I felt like such a wimp, I kept apologizing to the doctor!

At the absolute worst part, the discs were causing numbness and tingling all the way from my neck down into my fingers. Fortunately I'm not feeling that right now.

You are in my thoughts and prayers too sweetie!!


Omg..forgot to mention..bc of my neuromuscular disease, ive had repeated EMGs (this was when i was younger) and i was in agony. Dont feel like a wuss...I cried too!!

Jess, I am so sorry you are going through all of this and I hope you get some answers today.

By the way, I've had multiple EMG's too; it is an incredible form of torture, I agree.

I just read your update and that really stinks!!! Is there another doctor that you can go to? In the mean time here are some and for you.

okay - any chance you can get to a chiropractor? I know what used to help me feel better (not sure if you saw my earlier post - i had spinal surgery 2 years ago) was the tingly thing that they put on you. I can recommend Dr. Bianculli in Lindenhurst, he's WONDERFUL!

If you want to go - FM me and i'll give you my maiden name - he's been our family chiro for YEARS and he WILL get you in!

Moist heat helped me a lot, ummm....really, really trying to think of what else....

can you take a bath? Moist heat at it's finest would be a bath....or if you know ANYONE with a hot tub....or a gym with one that you can get a guest pass to....

I just took the hottest shower I could possibly take, and it helped to relax me a little bit. Gonna go lay down with the heating pad again in a few.

My neurologist recommended staying away from a Chiropractor because of where the herniated discs are in my neck ... he's worried about the possibility of causing more damage.

I'm that I can get one of his associates to call in a different prescription to my pharmacy, at least something to get me through the next couple of days.

Please oh please tell me that your'e using a MOIST HEAT heating pad.... it's going to make it worse if you are doing dry heat!!!!!!!!!!!

That is awful. Could the office suggest someone else for you to see since you are in so much pain. it's not right for them leave you without medical care when you are in desperate need.

There are other doctors in the practice, and I would have gone to see one of them if I had to ... I totally agree with you, leaving me without any care at this point is really sucky!

But they were able to call in a prescription for Vicoprofen to get me through the weekend until I can see him on Monday.

It hasn't fixed the problem, but it sure did take the edge off!

So Sorry you are getting the Run Around.
Hope you can get through the weekend with alittle bit less pain than you have been feeling.

They should of offered you another appointment with a different doctor.
