UPDATED: I may have just gotten my dream job...

Just got a call back from the interview I went on this morning at a floral events design firm - PinonDesign. I'll be learning floral design and coordinating events (weddings, banquets, etc.). I love flowers and event planning!

He (Jun Pinon, the designer) has a list of high-end clients (Ritz Carlton, 4 Seasons, Macys) that use him exclusively, and he's attracting more and more brides and corporate/private banquets.

Believe it or not, having planned a wedding helped me land the job - some days I'll be working with brides, so it helps to understand their mindset (no one else can understand us )

Jun wants me to come in again tomorrow to go over the job in more detail and introduce me to some clients. I think if I still want it after tomorrow, its mine!

I've never had a job I liked before (its a far cry from finance!). And this has always been a dream job for me (not a dream salary, but it pays more than unemployment). Yay!

UPDATE:

I got it! Jun and I had brunch together and then wandered around the flower market and picked up some plants and flowers for the Ritz. I can't believe this is work!

And its even better than I thought. The woman who manages the office and client accounts with him is leaving, so I become the new account manager. Jun and I are the only two that deal with events, and I'll be his right hand managing the designers and playing with flowers too.

I start tomorrow!
