UPDATED: Say some prayers for DH's firefighter friends

UPDATE: All 5 are doing well. They were not in critical condition as some people were telling DH. Some had burns on the back of their necks. One had a hole burned right through his gear. All had smoke inhalation. But DH spoke to the Chief and they are doing well. Thank you to all who said a prayer. Sometimes, I hate being a firefighter's wife.


DH is a firefighter. This morning, his FD had their first house fire of the year. When opening the door to the house, the fire flashed back at them. Five firefighters were taken to the hospital and some, we are being told, are in critical condition. We're waiting for more news. Luckily, this happened after DH and our very close friends went to work. But it is still very sad and disturbing because these are guys from HIS department. Please say some prayers for them and their families.

I can't find anything on News 12 but will update when DH hears more.

So glad it wasn't that serious - I can only imagine how scary it must be for you to worry about your DH every time he goes out on a call. I think you and all the wives of firefighters, police officers, military men, etc are so brave.

i am sooo happy to hear that they will be ok... it is very scary...

i know how you feel sometimes... my DH is a police officer

Oh that was scary. I am glad to know they were ok. I imagine it must have been just as hard on you as the DH, knowing it could easily have been him. I give you credit jenn. I couldn't be married to a cop or firefighter though having a truck driver for a hubby is almost as ba with the way people drive lately. Each time I hear about accidents involving tractor trailers on the major highways my heart jumps into my throat.

Glad you can breathe a little easier now. Sending prayers for their speedy recovery.

OMG that is so scary! Its great to hear that DH's friends are not as bad as you originally thought! Thank God DH wasn't there. I can't imagine how you feel knowing how dangerous DH's job is.
